Abstract

Digital transformation in education encourages universities to utilize adaptive and responsive academic information systems. This study aims to evaluate the utilization of the Portalsia academic information system at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) based on the experience of students as the main users. A qualitative descriptive approach was used with data collection techniques through semi-structured interviews with 15 students from various study programs. The results of the study show that Portalsia has been utilized in various academic activities, such as filling in KRS, checking grades, and printing KHS. However, there are still a number of obstacles, such as low system stability during peak usage, a less intuitive interface, and minimal training and socialization for users. This study recommends increasing server capacity, developing interface designs based on user experience (UX) principles, regular training for students, and is expected to be a reference for the development of a more adaptive academic information system and the process of digitalizing academic services in universities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relevance of Imam Abu Ishaq al-Syatibi's thoughts on Maqasid al-Syari'ah in the development of contemporary Islamic economics. Al-Syatibi divides Maqasid al-Syari'ah into three levels: dharuriyyat (basic needs), hajiyyat (additional needs), and tahsiniyyat (complementary needs), which encompass the five fundamental elements of human life: religion, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review methods to explore the influence of al-Syatibi's thought on economic policies, Islamic financial products, and the formulation of socially just policies. The research findings indicate that the application of Maqasid al-Syari'ah principles can enhance the well-being of the community through fair wealth distribution, productive zakat management, and the development of the Islamic financial sector. Al-Syatibi's thought is also relevant in formulating fiscal policies focused on social justice and poverty alleviation, as well as in addressing global economic challenges such as social inequality and environmental degradation.

Abstract

Industrial transformation driven by digital revolution, sustainability demands, and global market dynamics has significantly reshaped the paradigm of operations management. This study aims to analyze the evolution of operations management concepts within the context of modern industry through a systematic literature review of scholarly publications from the last five years (2020–2025). A qualitative research approach based on literature study was employed, involving a selection of peer-reviewed articles sourced from reputable academic databases such as Scopus and ScienceDirect. The findings indicate that operations management has expanded from a technical function to a strategic one, emphasizing process digitalization, sustainability integration, and the combination of lean and agile operations. Concepts such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, green supply chains, and leagile systems have emerged as key pillars in the current operational landscape. The study concludes that modern operations management is multidimensional, adaptive, and strategically driven, thereby requiring interdisciplinary collaboration for future development. These insights are expected to contribute to both theoretical advancements and practical policy implications in the field of industrial operations.
