Abstract

Physics is a part of natural science that has the properties of processes, products and values. Most of the concepts of physics are formulas, but they can be tested through experiments. Along with technological developments in experiments often used technology-based aids, for example the use of PhET (Physics Education Technology) applications to determine gravitational acceleration through simple swivel arrangements. The simple rotation experiment was performed by giving variations in rope lengths of 50 cm, 60 cm, 70 cm, 80 cm, 90 cm, and 100 cm for each of the different bulk masses of 0.5 kg and 1 kg. The study aims to determine the value of gravitational acceleration in simple rotations using PhET applications. (Physics Education Technology). Research data is displayed in tables and graphs. The data analysis uses a linear regression equation between the length of the string (L) and the square of the period (T2). Large gravitational acceleration is obtained through the gradient of the linear equation of the longness of the rope (L). The magnitude of gravitational acceleration obtained for a 0.5 kg body mass was 9.50 m/s2, for a 1 kg body weight was 9.67 m /s2, and the average perception of gravity was 9.58 m / s2.

Abstract

Background: Masa remaja merupakan fase penting dalam pembentukan karakter, tetapi keterlibatan remaja dalam kegiatan sosial di lingkungan Kelurahan Lamper Lor masih rendah. Tujuan: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran, kepedulian, dan keterlibatan remaja melalui pelatihan character-building berbasis pembuatan jembatan kayu dari stik es krim. Metode: Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif pada remaja usia 13–18 tahun di Kelurahan Lamper Lor, Semarang, dengan melibatkan orang tua. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi pre-test, penyampaian materi, praktik kelompok membuat jembatan kayu, diskusi, post-test, dan pengisian kuesioner kepuasan mitra. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan jawaban benar sebesar 32% pada post-test, tingginya antusiasme peserta, serta munculnya komitmen remaja untuk kembali aktif dalam kegiatan Karang Taruna. Kesimpulan: Secara umum, pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa media sains sederhana dapat digunakan sebagai sarana pembentukan karakter dan penguatan keterlibatan sosial remaja di lingkungan kelurahan.

Abstract

Safety is the most important aspect of a road to consider. Road safety means the road is in good condition for a vehicle to pass on. Maintenance and reconstruction are the two means that should be performed to preserve road performance and safety. Bina Marga Semarang, as the road administrator, uses Surface Distress Index (SDI) data to determine the appropriate maintenance/reconstruction (M/R) work on a road within the road network in Semarang. The SDI method gives a score based on each road segment condition; the lower the score, the better the road condition, which means the less road damage. This research aimed to allocate resources based on the risk inherent in each road section. SDI in 2024 and Average Daily Traffic (ADT) data in 2023 were used to quantify the risk magnitude of each road section in the Kecamatan Tugu, Semarang road network. The maintenance/reconstruction cost of each segment was also calculated to determine the road M/R cost. Road segments were then ranked based on the risk magnitude and M/R cost. The result showed that JL. Stasiun Jrakah was the riskiest road, but held the 7th position in M/R cost.
