Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan analisis penokohan dan teknik penokohan novel Selamat Tinggal karya Tere Liye. Terkait dengan hal ini, masih banyak mahasiswa yang kurang tepat dalam membedakan antara tokoh dan penokohan, bahkan kurang tepat menentukan teknik-teknik penokohan yang dimanfaatkan oleh pengarang, sehingga mahasiswa tersebut tidak mampu mendapatkan pesan yang disampaikan oleh pengarang. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Instrumen utama penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan instrumen tambahan adalah alat tulis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumen dan teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menyimpulkan hasil penelitian atau verifikasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan penokohan yang dominan muncul adalah Sintong,sebagai mahasiswa yang punya bakat menulis. mahasiswa yang memiliki prinsip hidup yang kuat, dan mahasiswa yang mau bekerja keras. Teknik penokohan dalam novel Selamat Tinggal karya Tere Liye terdiri atas teknik analitik dan dramatik.

Abstract

This research began with the researcher's observation of the form of politeness in language in Inter-Community Interaction in Kampung Tarandam Gurun Panjang Selatan Village, Bayang District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The language used by the people of Kampung Tarandam Village is diverse, for example in the use of the word kau/waang, some people use the word and understand that the word is impolite. While some people say that the word kau/waang can be said to be polite if the interlocutor is someone of the same age and the interlocutor is not angry or offended if called kau/waang. The purpose of this study is to describe the form and meaning of politeness in the language of the people of Kampung Tarandam, Gurun Panjang Selatan, Pesisir Selatan. This type of research is qualitative, research that produces descriptive data in the form of written words, spoken words from people and observable behavior. The method used in this study is a descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, documentation, listening techniques, recording, taking notes. Data analysis techniques in this study are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the form and meaning of politeness in language in Inter-Community Interaction in Kampung Tarandam Gurun Panjang Selatan Village, Bayang District, Pesisir Selatan Regency obey the maxims of wisdom, generosity, sympathy, humility, and agreement. Of the five maxims, wisdom, generosity, sympathy, humility, and agreement, there are two maxims that are predominantly used by the people of Kampung Tarandam Gurun Panjang Selatan Village, Bayang District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The maxims that are often used are the maxim of wisdom and the maxim of agreement

Abstract

Pembelajaran huruf vokal dan konsnan, khususnya dalam membaca permulaan pada siswa tunagrahita ringan, pendidik harus kreatif dalam memilih atau menentukan media yang digunakan karena sebagai seorang guru kita harus mengetahui dimana kekurangan dan kelemahan pembelajaran huruf vokal dan konsonan. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran huruf vokal dan konsonan pada siswa tunagrahita ringan kelas III SLB Negeri Ranah Pesisir Pesisir Selatan Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat di simpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran sangat berpengaruh dalam proses pembelajaran mengenal huruf vokal dan konsonan, didapati pada siswa Hidayat terdapat perubahan yang cukup baik dalam mengenal huruf vokal dan konsonan, dan pada siswa Raju masih terdapat kesulitan dalam mengingat huruf vokal dan konsonan tetapi Raju sudah mulai mengenal huruf dengan cukup baik dan pada siswa Aidil hasil yang didapati cukup baik dalam mengenal huruf vokal dengan jumlah yang tidak banyak sedangkan pada huruf vokal siswa mengalami kesulitan karena jumalah huruf konsonan yang terbilang cukup banyak. Pada Raju dan Aidil mengalami sulitan dalam mengenal atau membedakan huruf /b/,/d/,/p/,/q/,m/,dan /n/. Ini disebabkan karena karakteristik pada siswa tunagrahita ringan yang memiliki keterbatasan dalam memsutatkan konsentrasi dan sukar dalam mempelajari hal baru.

Abstract

Gerakan literasi sekolah merupakan salah satu upaya pemerintah untuk menumbuhkan minat membaca dan juga menulis di sekolah sehingga terciptalah wawasan dan pola pikir yang kritis. Penerapan literasi di sekolah telah dilakukan oleh siswa kelas VIII SMP IT AL-A’LAM Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu Riau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan literasi yang dilaksanakan oleh siswa kelas VIII SMP IT AL-A’LAM Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu Riau hanya sampai pada tahap pembiasaan. Keterampilan membaca siswa tahap recording, decoding, dan meaning tingkat taksonomi Bloom yang paling banyak dicapai siswa adalah C1 (mengingat). Manfaat yang diperoleh oleh siswa setelah literasi yaitu mampu memahami suatu informasi dengan baik, mendapatkan wawasan dan pengetahuan baru, mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik, memperkaya perbendaharaan kosa kata, membantu meningkatkan daya fokus dan kemampuan konsentrasi, mampu merangkai kata yang bermakna, dan mampu memecahkan permasalahan.

Abstract

This research is based on the fact that many students have difficulty in writing exposition texts, especially in determining the main idea, formulating problems, and choosing appropriate words and language to compose the thesis, arguments, and reaffirmation sections. The purpose of this study is to describe and explain the ability to write exposition texts based on the discovery learning model in phase X students at SMA Negeri 8 Padang. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through performance tests and documentation, then analyzed by assessing students' writing results, giving scores, converting scores into grades, calculating averages, discussing, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the ability to write exposition texts with the discovery learning model was in the very good category, with an average value of 86.72, which was in the range of 86-95 on a scale of 10. This proves that the discovery learning model is effective in improving students' text writing, especially in the aspects of developing theses, arguments, and reaffirmation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the absence of item analysis for the Indonesian Language End-of-Semester Assessment (PAS) for the 2024/2025 academic year, so the quality of the test items in terms of validity, reliability, difficulty level, discrimination power, and distractor effectiveness was unknown. The study aimed to analyze the quality of the PAS items and to identify whether the items were too easy or too difficult and whether they could differentiate between students who had mastered the content and those who had not. A descriptive quantitative method was employed. The data consisted of the test papers and students’ answer sheets from the odd-semester PAS 2024/2025. Students’ responses were tabulated by option choice and analyzed using measurement theory, covering item validity, test reliability, item difficulty, item discrimination, and distractor effectiveness. The results showed that in Package A, 7 items were valid (70%) and 3 were invalid (30%); the reliability was moderate (0.620); difficulty levels were dominated by the medium category (7 items; 70%) and easy category (3 items; 30%); discrimination indices were good to very good for 7 items (70%), but 3 items (30%) were poor; and all distractors were good to very good (100%). In Package B, 8 items were valid (80%) and 2 were invalid (20%); reliability was high (0.843); difficulty levels were dominated by easy items (6 items; 60%) and medium items (4 items; 40%); discrimination indices were good to very good for 7 items (70%), with 3 items (30%) in the fair to poor range; and distractors were good to very good for 9 items (90%), while 1 item (10%) had poor distractors. The study recommends revising or replacing invalid items and items with low discrimination, balancing item difficulty—especially in Package B—and conducting routine item analysis before reusing the test.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the difficulty of realizing character education values in social life, indicating that character education as a foundation of national education has not been fully implemented in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to describe the character education values found in the novel Hello by Tere Liye. This research uses a qualitative approach. The research instruments consist of the researcher, stationery, and tables used to record and transcribe all data related to character education values in the novel Hello by Tere Liye. The data collection technique used is documentation, while the data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that there are 13 forms of character education values, namely honesty, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, democracy, curiosity, appreciation of achievement, communicativeness, love of peace, reading interest, social care, and responsibility. The most dominant character education value is curiosity, while the least dominant values are honesty and democracy. The character education values in the novel Hello by Tere Liye are presented through various techniques, namely dramatic and analytical techniques. These techniques make the story in the novel interesting and not monotonous to read. This indicates that the author is creative in constructing both the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the novel.

Abstract

Based on the problem that many Indonesians still misunderstand or inaccurately interpret the meaning of Prabowo Subianto’s speech because the audience comes from different backgrounds of experience, education, culture, and emotion, they may fail to properly understand the meaning of the illocutionary speech acts contained in Prabowo Subianto’s speech. Therefore, this study aims to describe the forms and functions of illocutionary speech acts in Prabowo Subianto’s speech at the closing ceremony of the 6th PAN Congress in 2024. This research is a qualitative study using a descriptive approach. The main instrument of this research is the researcher, while the supporting instruments are stationery and data tables. The data source of this study is Prabowo Subianto’s speech at the closing ceremony of the 6th PAN Congress in 2024. The data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To ensure data validity, theoretical triangulation was used. The results of this study show that there are 103 data related to the forms of illocutionary speech acts in Prabowo Subianto’s speech at the closing ceremony of the 6th PAN Congress in 2024, along with their functions. The forms of illocutionary speech acts include expressive speech acts with 41 data, directive speech acts with 29 data, assertive speech acts with 19 data, commissive speech acts with 9 data, and declarative speech acts with 4 data. The functions of illocutionary speech acts consist of competitive functions with 16 data, convivial functions with 38 data, collaborative functions with 33 data, and conflictive functions with 16 data. These four functions form the foundation of meaning in each utterance delivered by the speaker through his speech.
