Abstract: This research is purposed to explain subsequent concerns. Describe the relationship between student’s critical ability and student’s popular-article writing skill in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang and describe the relationship between critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on student’s visual learners, auditory learners, tactual learners at class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang. This correlation research is taken population of students in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang year of school 2013/2014. Sample collection in 30 students this research is conducted by using proportional random sampling. Research instrumen is objective test to critical reading, working test to popular-article writing skill and questionnaire to learning style. data were analyzed b describe correlation.This research find out the magnitude of relationship between critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill, whether individually or collectively, based on student’s learning style.The result of the research indicated that (1) there is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill at the rate of 0.466; (2) There is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on visual learners at the rate of 0.61; (3) There is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on auditory learners at the rate of 0.633; (4) There is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on tactual learners at the rate of 0.52. It can be concluded that critical reading ability, as individually or collectively, have a contribution in student’s popular-article writing skill in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang. This study aimed to describe the relationship of critical reading skills with popular article writing skills class XI student of SMAN 5 Padang. The study population was a class XI student of SMAN 5 Padang. The sampling amounted to 30 students is done by proportional random sampling. Data collected through an objective test and test performance. Objective test is used to determine the results of critical reading skills, test performance was conducted to determine the results of the popular article writing skills. Analysis and discussion of the data is a descriptive correlational to know the great relationship of critical reading skills with popular article writing skills. Based on the results of the study concluded the following three. First, the level of critical reading skills class XI student of SMAN 5 Padang quite enough (67.23). Second, popular article writing skill level class XI student of SMAN 5 Padang is quite (64.7). Third, there is a significant relationship between critical reading skills with popular article writing skills class XI student of SMAN 5 Padang 0.466.

This study aims to describe the relationship of reading interest with news writing skills of class VIII SMP 24 Padang. The sample in this study amounted to 40 students whose sampling was done by proportional random sampling. Data collection is done through questionnaires and performance tests. Questionnaire is used to determine the level of mastery of students' reading interest, performance tests are conducted to find out the results of news writing skills. Data analysis and discussion were carried out descriptively correlational. Based on the results of data analysis obtained the following research findings. First, the level of mastery of reading interest in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang is quite adequate, which is equal to 67.85. Second, the level of mastery of news writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 24 Padang is quite sufficient, which is 73.5. Third, the correlation coefficient of reading interest with news writing skills is quite sufficient at 0.448.

This community service activity aims to raise students’ awareness and pride in using proper and correct Indonesian amid the challenges of globalization and popular culture. The activity was carried out in three stages: planning, implementation (material delivery and simulation), and evaluation. The results show that students often mix Indonesian with foreign languages and slang. This outreach successfully motivated students to use Indonesian more actively in appropriate communication contexts. The activity is expected to promote the preservation of the Indonesian language as a national identity.

Education in Indonesia, including at SMP 05 Sutera Pesisir Selatan, has summarized the curriculum applied at all levels of education, including the 2013 Curriculum. Each lesson aims to develop students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Affective, cognitive and psychomotor assessments are carried out through observation and analysis of the learning process, especially in learning persuasive speech texts. However, there are obstacles in the learning process, including students' difficulties in writing speech texts and the lack of variety and flexibility in the teaching methods used by teachers. The learning process only involves assessments at the beginning and end of learning, while the lack of variety and flexibility in teaching methods can hinder student creativity and independence. This research aims to analyze the process of learning persuasive speech texts at SMP 05 Sutera Pesisir Selatan using the 4C approach (Critical Thinking, Creative Communication, and Collaboration). Qualitative research methods were used with research instruments in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that learning planning includes providing learning tools and the necessary hardware and software. The learning process consists of three stages: opening, core, and closing, which involve activities such as attendance, introduction to material, and group discussions. Evaluation of the learning process involves authentic assessment in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains, with assessment techniques such as written tests, observations and assignments.

Low levels of children’s language literacy are closely related to the limited involvement of parents in providing literacy stimulation at home. This community service program aimed to enhance parents’ awareness and understanding of the importance of language literacy for children’s cognitive and communication development. The activity was conducted using an educative–participatory approach through counseling sessions, interactive discussions, and guidance on simple literacy practices at home. The results showed an increase in parents’ knowledge, positive attitudes, and active participation in supporting children’s literacy development. This program contributes to strengthening family-based literacy practices and fostering a supportive environment for children’s language and character development.

This study aimed to examine the role of attention, memory, and metacognition in predicting student learning outcomes in the Developmental Psychology course. Conducted in September 2025 in the Department of Islamic Religious Education, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Riau Islamic University, the research involved 101 third-semester students. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected through validated instruments: an Attention Assessment Scale, a Working Memory Questionnaire, and the Metacognitive Awareness Inventory (MAI). Student learning outcomes were measured using final course grades. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations, and multiple regression analyses were used to assess the relationships among variables. The results showed that attention, memory, and metacognition were each positively and significantly correlated with student learning outcomes. Regression analysis further indicated that metacognition was the strongest predictor, followed by memory and attention, collectively explaining a substantial proportion of variance in academic performance. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening cognitive and metacognitive skills to enhance learning outcomes in higher education settings
