Abstract

Abstrack The research entitled "The Reduplication in Gayo Language" has examined: (1) what are the forms of reduplication in Gayo language, (2) what types of words are reduplicated in Gayo language, and (3) what meaning is contained in Gayo language reduplication. The objective of this study were: (1) to describe the forms of Gayo language reduplication, (2) to describe the types of words which are reduplicated in Gayo language, and (3) to describe the meaning contained in Gayo language reduplication. The data source for this research are some native speakers of the Gayo language in Kebayakan. By using descriptive qualitative, Data collection was taken through observation, interview, recording, and reflection. The results of the study showed that the reduplication in Gayo language is generally as same as the reduplication of the Acehnese language. There were four forms of Gayo language reduplication found, namely: (1) full reduplication, (2) sound-changing reduplication, (3) partial reduplication, and (4) affixed reduplication. All words in the Gayo language had reduplication forms, especially full reduplication. Sound- changing reduplication occurs in verbs and adjectives. Partial reduplication occurs in verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and numerals. Affixed reduplication occurs in verbs, nouns, and adjectives. In the Gayo language, a form of sound-changing reduplication is found only in the word lintang-lintu. In affixed reduplication, it is found that the prefix -mu attached to the basic word gelumang becomes mugelumang and it was reduplicated become mugegelumang. Then to it appeared as two forms, gelumang → gelumang-gelumang → mugelumang-mugelumang → mugegelumang and gelumang → gelumang-gelumang → gegelumang → gegelumang-gegelumang → mugegelumang. In addition, there is also a prefix ¬i¬ in reduplication such as ipanang-ipanang, ipeltek-peltek, itatang-tatang, and ipies-pies which can also be used in other forms such as ipepanang, itetatang, and ipepies. Abstract

ABSTRACT The background to the research problem at the Pembina Lut Tawar State Kindergarten is that the storytelling method used by teachers is still not optimal when developing the character of early childhood. There are still some children whose character has not developed well. When studying, some children still don't understand themselves. They still have to listen to instructions from the teacher and still whisper while implementing the storytelling method. The aim of this research is to see the character development and reactions of children after the implementation of the storytelling method and what impacts/characters emerge in children after the storytelling method is implemented. The research method used to see the implementation of the storytelling method to see the development of children's character uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out collaboratively between researchers and class teachers. The results of the research showed that the pre-cycle percentage based on observations of the average child score was 26%. During the implementation of Action I (Cycle 1) the average percentage of children's scores was 48%. In the implementation of Action II (Cycle 2) the average percentage of children's scores was 75%. So, the implementation of the storytelling method in developing the character of early childhood has increased by 27%. Then, from this increase we can see the development of children's character, namely religious, honest, disciplined, independent, creative, responsible, caring, able to work together, tolerant, critical. Abstract

Fine motor skills are an important aspect in early childhood development that needs to be optimally stimulated. This study aims to improve children's fine motor skills through paper quilling activities at the IT Cendekia Takengon Private Kindergarten. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach with two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 20 children, consisting of 10 boys and 10 girls. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and documentation, while data analysis used percentage formulas and qualitative descriptions. The results of the study showed a significant increase in children's fine motor skills. In the pre-action, the percentage of achievement was only 45%. After the intervention in cycle I, it increased to 64%, and in cycle II it reached 83%. This increase reflects that paper quilling activities are effective in training hand-eye coordination, paper rolling, cutting, and sticking skills, as well as children's ability to express creativity through artwork. Thus, paper quilling activities can be used as an alternative learning strategy to develop fine motor skills in early childhood in a fun and meaningful way.
