Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the effectiveness of imposing fines as a sanction for traffic violations, with a case study in the Tanjungpandan District Court. The research aims to analyze whether fines serve as an effective deterrent to reduce traffic violations and improve road safety. Data were collected from court records, interviews with legal practitioners, and observations of traffic cases processed in court. The results show that while fines are a common and easily enforceable punishment, their deterrent effect remains limited. Many violators view fines as a minimal consequence and fail to alter their driving behavior significantly. Additionally, the research highlights several challenges in the consistent application of fines, including discrepancies in the fines imposed and the socio-economic factors influencing the violators’ ability to pay. The study concludes that while fines play a role in sanctioning traffic violations, supplementary measures, such as public awareness campaigns and stricter law enforcement, are needed to enhance their effectiveness in reducing violations. Abstract

This study analyzes George Orwell’s Animal Farm as a political allegory that critiques totalitarian regimes and the corruption of revolutionary ideals. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, the research applies semiotic and discourse analysis to examine the symbolic elements and political messages embedded in the novel. The findings reveal that characters such as Napoleon, Snowball, and Boxer symbolize key figures and classes from the Russian Revolution and Stalinist era, highlighting Orwell’s critique of propaganda, ideological control, and exploitation. The study shows how Orwell employs satire and allegory to depict the manipulation of language and truth, reflecting broader political realities both historically and in contemporary society. The novel serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked power and remains highly relevant in today’s political climate.

Abstract

Literasi adalah konseptual garis besar yang biasanya digunakan sebagai acuan untuk melakukan kegiatan kelas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan yang berkaitan dengan baca dan tulis. Implementasi dari teknik Mind Mapping siswa diharapkan dapat menulis ringkasan dalam bentuk peta pikiran yang kreatif dalam setiap mata pelajaran yang dipelajari oleh siswa. Kemampuan menulis ringkasan adalah kemampuan berbahasa yang agak kompleks karena termasuk dalam kategori kemampuan menulis reproduktif, yang melibatkan menciptakan potongan tulisan baru dan ringkas berdasarkan teks yang sudah ada. Keterampilan menulis siswa sekolah dasar terbilang rendah. Menerapkan metode ATM atau amati, tiru, dan modifikasi dengan bantuan teknik mind mapping menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan literasi pendidikan siswa sekolah dasar. Penulisan artikel ini memiliki tujuan guna memaparkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan literasi siswa melalui membaca dan menulis serta bagaimana keterampilan menulis ringkasan siswa melalui metode ATM dengan memanfaatkan Teknik mind maping pada siswa sekolah dasar. Pre-experimental dengan one group pretest-posttest design dipilih sebagai metode penelitian. Populasi penelitian yakni siswa di salah satu kelas V SD di Desa Sibuak. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumentes keterampilan menulis ringkasan.
