Abstract

Bengkulu Province has great marine potential and a long coastline, but the welfare of fishermen is still an issue that needs attention. This study aims to analyze the level of welfare and the factors that influence the welfare of fisher households in Bengkulu Province. The research location is in Bengkulu Province. In this study, the sample consisted of 200 purposively selected fisher households. Data were collected through secondary sources from the March 2023 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) and related agencies. For data analysis, quantitative descriptive method and binary logistic regression were used to see the factors affecting the welfare of fisher households. The results show that the highest level of welfare is in Mukomuko District with a percentage of 93.75%. Factors that are proven to have a probability effect on the welfare of fisher households include the number of family dependents and the status of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) recipients. In contrast, variables such as age, years of education, boat ownership, as well as participation in assistance programs such as Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera (KKS) and Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), are unlikely to have a significant effect on the welfare of fisher households in Bengkulu Province. These findings indicate that the government's role in raising awareness of the importance of limiting the number of family members can be done through socialization on family planning. The government needs to focus support through the BPNT assistance program on fisher households with more than four family members to improve their welfare.

Abstract

Commercial biopesticide products have been developed for a long time in Indonesia, but until now the level of application is still relatively low. This paper aims to determine the factors that are expected to influence the intention of non-users rice farmers to use commercial biopesticide products. Furthermore, a conceptual framework of intention to use commercial biopesticide products is proposed. Based on the literature review of previous empirical studies in various contexts, this paper has explored the factors that influence the intention of using biopesticides. Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 (UTAUT2) is employed as the main theoretical basis in this study which can be extended with relevant constructs to the research context (extended UTAUT2). The proposed conceptual framework recommends that non-users rice farmers' intention to use commercial biopesticide products is expected to be influenced by variables namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating condition, price value, perceived need, information publicity, and product marketing. This integrative conceptual framework is expected to have a theoretical contribution to understand the factors of non-users rice farmers’ intention to use commercial biopesticide products. In addition, it is beneficial for policymakers and managers to formulate and implement strategies to increase rice farmers' intention to use commercial biopesticide products.

Abstract

This study is a Classroom Action Research that applies the Peer Tutor method to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes on the topic of function composition. The Peer Tutor method is a learning approach that involves higher-achieving students assisting their classmates in understanding the material and completing learning tasks. The problem addressed in this research is the low learning outcomes and lack of student engagement. The study was conducted in two cycles, and each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 24 students of class XI D. The data were analyzed using comparative quantitative descriptive analysis. In the pre-cycle stage, students’ average score was 59.13 with a mastery learning percentage of 37.5%. After implementing the Peer Tutor method in Cycle I, the average score increased to 76.45 with a mastery percentage of 62.5%. In Cycle II, the average score reached 86.67 with 100% mastery learning. The results indicate that the application of the Peer Tutor method can improve students’ learning outcomes and engagement in mathematics, particularly in the topic of function composition.
