Abstract

Corn is an agricultural commodity that has an important role as food and feed. The demand for corn which continues to increase in line with the continued development of the food and feed industry indicates the large role of corn in the growth of the food crops subsector. This study aims to determine the structure, conduct, and performance of the corn commodity market in Madapangga District, Bima Regency. The technique of determining the sample using snowball sampling. The number of respondents included 5 corn farmers, 7 collectors, and 4 wholesalers. Data analysis techniques used quantitative descriptive analysis namely CR 4 (Concentration Ratio for The Bighest Four) analysis, Herfindahl Hirschman Index (HHI), marketing margins, farmer's share, Minimum Efficiency Scale (MES), and profit and cost ratios. The results showed that the corn commodity market structure at the farm level was perfect competition (CR4=16.77%, HHI=0.005), the collector trader level was oligopoly (CR4=62.99%, HHI=0.14), and the trader level was large is an oligopoly (CR4=65.67%, HHI=0.27). The corn commodity market has entry and exit barriers, with an MES value of 15 percent. Farmers' conduct in developing the market value of corn commodities focuses on increasing the productivity and quality of corn. Collector trader conduct concentrates on direct purchases by visiting farmers, while wholesalers prioritize the quality of corn commodities. The performance of the corn commodity market is determined by a marketing margin of IDR 250.00 per kilogram, farmer's share of farmers and traders respectively reaching 97.8 percent and 96.8 percent, while the value of the profit and cost ratio is 0.93.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the levels of fermented duckweed meals in the quail's diet on nutrient digestibility and egg quality. A total of 100 two-month-old quails were randomly placed into four different diet groups. The experiment used a Completely Randomized Design. A feeding trial was conducted for 6 weeks and 1-week adaptation. The levels of fermented duckweed meal used were P0 = 0% (control), P1 = 5%, P2 = 10%, and P3 = 15%.  Egg samples were collected during the final week to measure egg quality parameters, including egg weight, yolk weight, albumen weight, shell weight, yolk color, and haugh Unit (HU). Nutrient digestibility observed includes organic matter, crude fat and crude protein. Data was analyzed using ANOVA and followed by Duncan's multiple range test. The results showed that the inclusion of fermented duckweed meals significantly affected (p<0.05) egg weight, egg yolk weight, haugh unit and organic matter digestibility, crude fat digestibility but did not significantly affect egg white weight, shell weight, egg yolk color, HU and protein digestibility. The P1 5% treatment gave the highest results on egg weight, HU, organic matter digestibility, fat digestibility and protein digestibility, while an increase in the level of 15% (P3) reduced egg weight, yolk weight, egg white weight, HU, organic digestibility and fat digestibility.  In conclusion, the levels of 5% and 10% of fermented duckweed meal showed optimum effects for improving egg quality and nutrient digestibility in quail.

Abstract

PHBS stands for Clean and Healthy Living Behavior outreach activity for managers and vendors at Loang Baloq Tourism Park in Mataram City aims to increase public awareness and knowledge in maintaining the cleanliness of the tourist environment. Through this activity, it is hoped that a clean, healthy, and comfortable tourist environment will be created for visitors and support the government's efforts to realize a sustainable tourism destination. The implementation method includes outreach, demonstrations, and direct assistance in the field. Community service partners are vendors and managers of Loang Baloq Tourism Park, totaling 20 participants. The evaluation was carried out in the form of a pre-test and post-test on the PHBS concept, the importance of a clean tourist environment, waste management, and hygiene practices in selling food and beverages. The results of the activity showed an 85% increase in participants' understanding of the importance of PHBS, based on the results of the pretest (average 57.75%) and posttest (85.25%), as well as a commitment to implementing clean and healthy behaviors in daily activities. The implementation of PHBS not only impacts individual health but also improves environmental quality and tourist attractions. Follow-up, including regular mentoring and policy support from local governments, is necessary to ensure sustainable PHBS implementation.
