Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of the Discovery Learning model to enhance learning outcomes in Islamic Education. The research adopts a qualitative case study approach. Data collection methods include participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model (data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing). The findings demonstrate that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model positively influences multiple aspects of learning. These include the redesign of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum, intensive teacher training, structured lesson planning, and application of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based assessments. Notably, student participation transformed from passive to active, with marked improvements in critical thinking, learning motivation, understanding of religious concepts, and assessment outcomes. Around 80% of students showed enhanced motivation and engagement, and assessment results improved by approximately 20% compared to traditional methods. The implications of this study emphasize that Discovery Learning fosters not only cognitive mastery but also independent exploration and contextual application of Islamic teachings. This student-centered model bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world practice, making Islamic Education more relevant and impactful. However, its success is contingent on teacher readiness and continuous professional development. The research suggests that broader implementation across various educational institutions could contribute significantly to modernizing religious education practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisa secara mendalam tentang proses internalisasi nilai-nilai moderasi beragama dalam membentuk sikap toleransi santri. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Lokasi penelitian di pondok pesantren Zainul Hasan Genggong Probolinggo dari bulan Januari-Mei 2025. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan diantaranya wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisa data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yakni reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses internalisasi nilai-nilai moderasi beragama dalam membentuk sikap toleransi santri di Pesantren Zainul Hasan Genggong yakni melalui integrasi nilai moderasi beragama dalam kurikulum pendidikan pesantren, pengajian kitab kuning, menerima kunjungan umat agama non-Muslim, KKN (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) bertema moderasi beragama, dan kerja bakti rutin di lingkungan pesantren.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Strategies for Internalizing Religious Moderation Values as a Preventive Effort against Students’ Radicalism Understanding in Pesantren-Based Madrasahs in Islamic elementary education. Conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Syamsul Jinan Sumberjo Besuki, a pesantren-based school in a multicultural environment, the research adopts a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving school leaders, Islamic education teachers, and students in grades 4, 5, and 6. Findings reveal that key values such as tasamuh (tolerance), tawassuth (moderation), i’tidal (balance), and muwathanah (civic responsibility) are systematically embedded in formal learning, religious practices, and school culture. Teachers and principals play vital roles as role models and facilitators who promote inclusive dialogue and critical thinking. Contextual teaching methods—such as open discussion, case studies, and reflective practice—help students internalize these values beyond theoretical understanding. Extracurricular activities further support character formation by encouraging cooperation, leadership, and respect for diversity. However, implementation is challenged by the absence of specific instructional materials, limited teacher training in diversity education, and the influence of unregulated digital content that may expose students to radical narratives. The study concludes that MI Syamsul Jinan serves as a practical model of how pesantren-based education can integrate religious moderation to foster tolerant and peaceful generations.

Abstract

This article aims to describe and provide a deeper understanding of the Transformation of Kiai Leadership Based on Servant Leadership: A Strategy for Building Students’ Solidarity and Teamwork. To obtain research data, a qualitative approach with a case study method was employed. The study was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Subulus Salam Pajarakan Probolinggo from June to September 2025. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that Transformation of Kiai Leadership Based on Servant Leadership: A Strategy for Building Students’ Solidarity and Teamwork at Pondok Pesantren Subulus Salam Pajarakan Probolinggo is implemented through transformative leadership, collective leadership, competence in Islamic religious education, spiritual guidance, and the exemplary role model of the kiai.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an in-depth understanding of Santri Fiqh Podcast as a learning innovation within Islamic Education management to enhance santri’s understanding of Fiqh Muʿāmalāt in the era of digital transformation. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research was conducted at Syahamah Islamic Boarding School, Probolinggo, from October to December 2025. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of the Santri Fiqh Podcast contributes to improved understanding of Fiqh Muʿāmalāt through two main strategies: (1) the integration of digital technology into Islamic learning management and (2) the internalization of Fiqh Muʿāmalāt values through systematically managed podcast content. From an educational management perspective, the podcast functions as a strategic learning resource that supports planning, implementation, and evaluation of digital-based PAI instruction. The study implies that podcast-based learning enhances student engagement, learning effectiveness, Islamic literacy, learning outcomes, and santri motivation, while strengthening digital innovation management in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This article aims to describe and analyze in depth the Transformation of the Internalization Strategy of Ecological Values ​​in Islamic Religious Education Learning towards the Formation of Students' Ecological Habitus at MTs. Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. This research uses a qualitative research method with a case study type. The research location is at the Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo Islamic Boarding School from September to November 2025. Data collection techniques used include interviews, observation, and documentation. While data analysis in this study uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
