The public's perception of teaching in SLB is a difficult thing because dealing with children in SLB, but teaching in SLB is not entirely difficult if we do it sincerely. The purpose of this study was to find out the experiences faced by teachers with non-specialized backgrounds teaching ABK in special schools. This study involved three teachers with the data collection technique in this study was semi-structured interviews. This research uses an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach regarding the experiences and difficulties of teaching for teachers with non-specialist backgrounds in teaching children with special needs. There are two main themes found: (1) Description of cognitive condition, (2) Description of emotional condition. The results of this study indicate that job constraints do not worsen the working conditions of the three subjects, making them feel grateful for their careers as non-PLB teachers. These three individuals can survive with 27 their jobs because they have a sense of attachment to the SLB children, a supportive workplace, family support, and support.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of emotional intelligence on self-adjustment among first-year Psychology students at Padang State University. Using a quantitative, correlational design with a survey method, data were collected from 82 students selected through purposive sampling. Two Likert-type scales were used: the emotional intelligence scale (42 items, reliability = 0.839) and the self-adjustment scale (40 items, reliability = 0.825). The data were normally distributed (p = 0.143 for emotional intelligence; p = 0.199 for self-adjustment) and showed a linear correlation (p = 0.000). Simple regression analysis revealed a significant influence of emotional intelligence on self-adjustment (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). The relationship was positive and unidirectional, with an R-square value of 0.514, indicating that emotional intelligence accounts for 51.4% of the variance in self-adjustment. The regression analysis also produced a constant (a) of 38.284 and a regression coefficient (b) of 0.685, demonstrating that higher emotional intelligence corresponds with better self-adjustment in students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between FoMo (Fear of Missing Out) and online game addiction among students in West Sumatra aged 18-25 years. The method used is quantitative with purposive sampling technique and the research subjects amounted to 200 people. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire that measured FoMo and online game addiction. The results showed that 97% of respondents were in the high online game addiction category, of which 35.5% were in the 21-year-old age group as the most vulnerable population. Data analysis using linear regression showed a positive correlation between FoMo and online game addiction (Pearson coefficient = 0.188, p = 0.004). The R square value of 0.035 indicates that FoMo contributed 3.5% to online game addiction, while 96.5% was influenced by other factors. These findings indicate that FoMo has a significant role in driving online game addiction behavior, although its contribution is relatively small.

Abstract

This study focuses on understanding the experiences of early adult women whose parents got divorced. The research emploed a qualitative method through a phenomenological approach. Purposive sampling was used to select participants who met specific criteria, namely early adult women aged 18–25 years, with a background of parental divorce that occurred at least five years ago, currently unmarried or not in a marital relationship, and willing to participate in the study. The data analysis technique applied in this research is Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Interviews were used as the method for collecting data from the participants. The findings of this study revealed six superordinate themes: family dynamics and the root causes of parental divorce, psychological and emotional impacts of divorce, coping strategies and adaptation processes, views on marriage, personal growth and future aspirations, and partners as new sources of emotional support.
