Abstract

The Karang Intan 2 Health Center area is one of the health centers where the number of pulmonary TB sufferers is still quite high; recorded in 2022, 29 patients were found and are currently undergoing a treatment program. There were 14 new cases added from January to April 2023; this shows that the transmission of pulmonary TB in the community is still quite high even though the government continues to eradicate TB. The purpose of this community service is for families and communities to be able to carry out 5 family health tasks, including recognizing health problems about pulmonary TB, making the right decisions, carrying out treatment procedures, modifying the environment that supports healing, and using health facilities in efforts to cure pulmonary TB patients. The method is to provide education and training to families and communities about the care, treatment, and prevention of pulmonary TB and the formation of the Community TB Care Group. The results obtained showed significant changes in the ability of families and communities to carry out family and community health tasks. Increased ability to recognize pulmonary TB health problems, be able to make decisions, be able to provide care to patients, and be able to modify the environment that supports healing, and all patients have utilized the available health facilities. A TB care group was formed under the name of the TB Care Community Group (KMP TB) "Sehat Paru" in Mandiangin Barat Village. Target Partners are expected to be more proactive in finding new and old cases of pulmonary TB and can also help families to carry out treatment and participate in supervising patients to comply with taking medication regularly. Abstract

The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in South Kalimantan Province, particularly in Banjar Regency, has shown an increase from 2018 to 2023. In 2018, the MMR was recorded at 108 per 100,000 live births, up from 103.9 in the previous year. By 2023, Banjar Regency reported 199 cases of MMR, ranking it as the third-highest region in the province. The leading causes of maternal deaths were hemorrhage and hypertensive disorders in pregnancy. In Pasar Jati Village, Astambul District, Banjar Regency, there were 6 cases of abortion in 2023, the highest among 22 villages in the district. Research indicates a strong correlation between abortion and pregnancy risk factors, with 32.95% of pregnant women having high-risk factors and 18.19% having very high-risk factors. Out of 197 pregnant women, 25 had a history of abortion with high or very high-risk factors. Health education is considered an effective strategy to enhance public awareness and knowledge about abortion and pregnancy danger signs. Studies show that health education significantly improves knowledge among pregnant women, particularly primigravida, regarding pregnancy risks and abortion prevention. Providing information early in pregnancy can better prepare mothers and reduce the risk of complications. Community service results demonstrated an increase in respondents' knowledge about pregnancy danger signs and abortion management, with p-values of 0.016 for families and 0.002 for health cadres. Thus, health education is a crucial intervention in efforts to reduce MMR and improve maternal well-being. Keyword : Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), abortion, health education, pregnancy danger signs

Abstract

The prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia has continued to increase significantly, from 25.8% in 2013 to 34.11% in 2018. In South Kalimantan Province, hypertension is one of the leading causes of death, particularly among women, with an incidence rate reaching 55.8% in 2022. Banjar Regency ranks second highest in the province, with a prevalence rate of 90.3%, indicating the urgent need for more effective preventive interventions. Low public awareness and knowledge regarding the risks of hypertension are major contributing factors to the high morbidity rate. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of health cadres and family members who accompany individuals with hypertension through a digital application-based educational approach. The program was conducted over four months and involved 24 respondents, consisting of health cadres and family caregivers, through a series of interventions including training, digital application implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation. The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test showed that the intervention did not have a statistically significant effect on the knowledge of family caregivers (p = 0.083), but it had a significant impact on improving the knowledge and skills of the health cadres (p = 0.036). These findings suggest that empowering health cadres through digital education can be an effective strategy to reduce hypertension incidence in the community. The results emphasize the importance of transforming health education into a more adaptive, interactive digital approach aligned with the technological usage trends among the productive-age population. Abstract

Preschool children (ages 3–6 years) are in their golden age of development, during which physical and psychological maturity progress rapidly. Fine motor skills are particularly important, as they support later academic abilities such as writing and drawing. This study aimed to determine the effect of coloring stimulation on the fine motor development of preschool children at Aisyiyah Kindergarten, Sungai Alang Branch, Karang Intan. This research employed a quantitative, quasi-experimental design using one group pretest–posttest without a control group. The study involved 18 children in class B. Fine motor development was measured using an observation rubric, and data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.  Before the intervention, the mean fine motor score was 3.89 (range 3–5). After five sessions of coloring stimulation, the mean score increased to 10.11 (range 8–12). Statistical analysis showed a significant difference (p-value=0.001, p<0.005), indicating that coloring stimulation had a measurable impact on children’s fine motor development. Coloring stimulation significantly improves preschool children’s fine motor skills. Both teachers and parents are encouraged to provide regular coloring activities as a simple, enjoyable, and effective strategy to optimize children’s developmental outcomes.
