Abstract

This research focuses on legal pluralism in Indonesia, where the Karo kinship structure (Daliken Si Telu), which includes Merga, Kuta, Kalimbubu, Anak Beru, and Sembuyak, interacts with Islamic inheritance law in the inheritance practices of the Karo Muslim community, creating potential tension between patrilineal customary norms (which prioritise men as inheritors of communal assets) and Islamic faraid provisions (which guarantee women's inheritance rights). The aim of this research is to analyse the influence of these kinship structures on the implementation of Islamic inheritance law, examine the process of adaptation and negotiation between the two legal systems, and evaluate the role of customary leaders and religious scholars in harmonisation. Using a legal-anthropological approach and descriptive qualitative methods, data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with IMKA UNIMED students, and analysis of customary and legal documents in Medan. The results of the study reveal that: (1) Karo kinship structures influence inheritance distribution through the separation of property categories immovable property (kuta land, traditional houses) is retained within the merga system for male children, while movable property (savings, livestock) is distributed according to Sharia law; (2) harmony is achieved through customary deliberation (runggu) involving customary leaders and religious scholars to formulate a ‘dual track’ agreement, as well as a benefit-sharing mechanism for communal assets; (3) customary leaders and religious scholars act as key mediators bridging customary values and Sharia law, resulting in notarised minutes formalised in the Religious Court. The research conclusion affirms that the interaction between the Karo kinship system and Islamic inheritance law is not a diametric conflict, but rather a dynamic negotiation process that combines cultural preservation with gender justice through the active role of local actors.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education depends on developing teachers' pedagogical competence and implementing a curriculum that suits the needs of students. A flexible and innovative curriculum allows teachers to adapt more effective learning methods, one of which is through the Deep Learning approach. This approach aims to increase students' in-depth understanding, build critical thinking skills, and encourage active involvement in the learning process. This study aims to identify the effectiveness of implementing the Deep Learning approach in improving student learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 29 Medan. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with educators and professionals. The results show that curriculum flexibility and innovative methods contribute to creating a more interactive and meaningful learning environment. However, challenges such as limited facilities, educators' readiness, and conventional evaluation systems still require further attention. Hopefully, the results of this study can encourage the implementation of more effective and sustainable learning strategies. The implication of this research is the need for support from various parties to realize education that is adaptive and responsive to the times.

Abstract

AbstrakPendidikan adalah proses multifaset dan berkelanjutan yang membantu orang mencapai tujuan hidup mereka. Pendidikan adalah proses yang diorganizasi secara teratur, terencana, dan menggunakan metode-metode yang dipelajari dari pelajaran tertentu yang aplikasikan oleh komunitas suatu masyarakat. Tujuan dari pnelitian ini adalah untuk membuat solusi-solusi sebagai upaya meningkatkan fasilitas sekolah untuk pendidikan yang lebih baik di SD Negeri 101776 Sampali Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan. Adapun Metode penelitian yang digunnakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Hasilnya, kami menemukan bahwa beberapa fasilitas yang terdapat pada SD Negeri 101776 Sampali kurang memadai seperti kurangna buku ajar dengan kurikulum merdeka serta kurangnya kipas angin sehingga menyebabkan ke tidak nyamanan dan ke tidak efektifan kegiatan belajar mengajar di kelas. Oleh sebab itu guna menangani permasalah tersebut, solusi yang kami berikaan yaitu agar sekolah berkoordinasi degan pemerintah daerah, pemerintah pusat, staf pendidik dan juga orang tua murid guna menigkatkan fasilitas sekolah agar suasana belajar mengajar dapat lebih efektif.Kata Kunci: Pendidikan, Fasilitas, Solusi
