Abstract

This study aims to analyze the utilization of coastal natural resources of Pantai Bali Lestari in supporting sustainable tourism development in Serdang Bedagai Regency. Pantai Bali Lestari is a real example of tourism destination management based on local wisdom and cultural commodification, especially Balinese culture, to attract tourists. Various facilities and infrastructure such as photo spots, restaurants, lodging, and adaptation of Balinese architecture make this beach a leading destination. However, coastal area management also faces challenges, both from environmental, social, and economic aspects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through field observations, documentation, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that synergy between the government, tourism managers, and the surrounding community is very important in ensuring the sustainability of coastal areas as productive and environmentally friendly tourism assets.

Abstract

Religious moderation is one of the priority programs in strengthening religious life in Indonesia. The Community Service Program (KKN) students of Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara (UINSU) 2025 play an important role in implementing the values of religious moderation through socio-cultural approaches. This article discusses the involvement of UINSU KKN students in Karo traditional practices in Gurukinayan Village, Karo Regency, as an effort to strengthen tolerance, respect local wisdom, and build interfaith dialogue. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The findings show that student participation in traditional activities such as customary ceremonies, mutual cooperation, and cultural dialogue has successfully created a harmonious space for interfaith encounters. This illustrates that the integration of Islamic values as rahmatan lil ‘alamin with local wisdom can strengthen religious moderation. Moreover, student involvement demonstrates how social interaction can serve as a medium of character education that instills empathy, respect for differences, and willingness to collaborate across religious and cultural boundaries. This experience also encourages students to become agents of social change capable of linking Islamic values with local realities. The findings further emphasize the importance of collaboration between universities, traditional leaders, village authorities, and religious figures in creating social harmony. Thus, KKN is not only understood as a community service program, but also as a strategic medium to cultivate a culture of peace, strengthen social solidarity, and preserve local traditions amidst modernization and globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of price factors, social factors, psychological factors, and knowledge factors on the decision to purchase counterfeit goods among students of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) from an Islamic perspective. This research uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, starting with in-depth interviews with students who have purchased or used counterfeit goods, followed by the distribution of questionnaires to 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Qualitative data were analyzed thru data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while quantitative data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS after passing validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The research results show that the decision to purchase imitation goods is influenced by price, social, psychological, and knowledge factors, with price being the most dominant factor and the consideration of Islamic values in the decision-making process. The price factor and the knowledge factor have a partially positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions, while the social factor and psychological elements do not have a significant influence. The four independent variables significantly influence purchasing decisions (Sig. = 0.000) and explain 65.4% of the variance in purchasing decisions (Adjusted R square = 0.654). These findings indicate that consumer purchasing decisions are more rational, particularly in terms of price affordability and product knowledge, while still considering the values of honesty, benefit, and avoiding elements of deception, uncertainty, and extravagance from an Islamic perspective.
