Abstract

This research aims to explore the mathematical concepts embedded in the traditional costume of Bebegig Sukamantri, Ciamis. The study is motivated by the importance of connecting mathematics learning with local culture through an ethnomathematics approach. The research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with cultural practitioners, and documentation. The findings reveal that the Bebegig costume incorporates several mathematical concepts, including geometry, transformations (translation and reflection), arithmetic sequences, piecewise functions, and statistics. The study concludes that ethnomathematics can serve as a bridge between culture and mathematics education and has the potential to be applied as a contextual learning medium. The implications of this research highlight the importance of preserving local culture as a source of mathematics learning and the need to integrate ethnomathematics into the educational curriculum.

Abstract

This study proposes a conceptual framework for Green STEAM-H Pedagogy, integrating Eco-Mathematical Literacy as an approach to sustainability-oriented education. The framework responds to the growing need for educational models that systematically connect sustainability values, interdisciplinary learning, and analytical competencies in addressing complex environmental challenges. It synthesizes three key dimensions: green pedagogy as a value-oriented foundation, STEAM-H (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Mathematics, and Health) as an interdisciplinary structure, and eco-mathematical literacy as a central analytical component. The framework is operationalized through a developmental progression consisting of three stages: eco-awareness, eco-integration, and eco-transformation. These stages represent a structured pathway through which learners develop ecological understanding, integrate knowledge across disciplines, and apply their competencies in sustainability-oriented actions. In addition, a pedagogical model is proposed to translate the framework into classroom practice by aligning instructional strategies, learning activities, and expected outcomes. This study contributes to the literature by offering a coherent and operationalizable model that bridges the gap between sustainability theory and educational practice. The framework highlights the role of eco-mathematical literacy in supporting data-driven reasoning and decision-making within interdisciplinary learning contexts. It also provides implications for curriculum development, pedagogy, and assessment in fostering transformative and future-oriented learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan Wordwall dengan penerapan model pembelajaran langsung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Non-equivalent Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, dimana terdapat dua kelompok, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model PBL berbantuan Wordwall, dan kelas kontrol yang mendapatkan pembelajaran langsung. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang signifikan pada siswa yang belajar menggunakan model PBL berbantuan Wordwall dibandingkan dengan siswa yang belajar secara langsung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Salopa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik sampling purposive. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas X-1 dengan jumlah 26 peserta didik sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dengan bantuan Wordwall dan kelas X-2 dengan jumlah 26 peserta didik sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan metode langsung. Dengan demikian, penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan Wordwall efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa.
