Abstract

Financial literacy education should ideally be introduced from an early age during school years. Children need to be guided and accustomed to good financial behaviors. This community service research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of financial literacy education in fostering an early investment foundation among students of SMK Muhammadiyah Pangkalan Balai. The low level of financial literacy among the younger generation, particularly in the context of investment, remains a relevant challenge amidst the dynamics of the digital economy. Employing interactive socialization and counseling methods, this program involved 65 twelfth-grade students. Pre-test and post-test results showed a highly significant increase in knowledge (average gain score of 35.8 points), accompanied by positive changes in students' attitudes and interest in early investment. The program's novelty lies in its emphasis on "financial adaptability" and the integration of entrepreneurial values. It is concluded that financial literacy education with an interactive counseling approach is highly effective in equipping students of SMK Muhammadiyah Pangkalan Balai with practical financial competencies for the future.

Abstract

This community service activity was motivated by the Sehati Family Planning Village's need for a real-time data monitoring system to evaluate the community's socio-economic resilience. The main challenge faced by partners was the difficulty in monitoring community empowerment indicators effectively and sustainably. The objective of the community service was to implement the website-based SIPATEN-SOSEK (Community Socio-Economic Resilience Monitoring System) application through workshops to increase the capacity of cadres and Working Group (Pokja) administrators. Implementation methods included outreach, technical workshops, mentoring, and data integration with the Village Data House. As a result, cadres and administrators were successfully trained to operate SIPATEN-SOSEK, build a transparent monitoring system, and design data-driven empowerment action plans. This activity successfully created an accountable policy tool and is expected to serve as a model for replication to strengthen the resilience and well-being of families in other Family Planning Villages.

Abstract

Culinary tourism, an integral part of tourism, offers unique experiences that allow tourists to experience and understand regional culture through its traditional food and beverages. One culinary destination in Palembang with the potential to attract tourists is the Tanggo Rajo Cindo Palembang Pempek Village. This potential has not been optimally utilized due to low community involvement, particularly in digital marketing through social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, which offer limited content. The community service program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of business owners in promoting their products to increase sales. The method used is collaborative, integrative, and participatory, with direct partner involvement. The activity was carried out in the Pempek Village. Before the pandemic, there were nine businesses, but now only six remain. Limited social media capabilities have impacted sales. Results show an increase in followers and content viewers across various platforms. This increase is expected to help UMKM promote their products and encourage the implementation of Community-Based Tourism to support sustainable culinary tourism in Palembang.
