Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the extent to which motivation and digital technology influence the improvement of Mandarin language proficiency among students in the Mandarin Language for Business and Professional Communication Study Program at Universitas Prima Indonesia. Specifically, this research analyzes the effect of motivation on language mastery, the role of technology in the learning process, and the combined impact of both factors on learning outcomes. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through a questionnaire as the main instrument, completed by 37 respondents. The findings indicate that motivation has a significant impact on Mandarin language proficiency (significance value < 0.05; t-value = 4.390 > t-table = 2.032). In contrast, the individual use of digital technology does not have a significant effect (significance = 0.983 > 0.05). However, the integration of motivation and technology demonstrates a significant simultaneous effect (significance < 0.05; F-value = 76.279 > F-table = 3.27). These findings emphasize the importance of motivation in language learning and highlight the potential of technology when appropriately applied. Therefore, educational institutions are encouraged to develop learning approaches that combine these two aspects to enhance Mandarin language mastery.

The main objective is to identify the developmental needs of human resources in Mandarin instruction and to formulate a training model relevant to industry requirements. The method used is a library research approach with descriptive-qualitative analysis, utilizing sources such as books, academic journals, and research reports. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to examine the required competencies in the field. The findings reveal that the integration of linguistic proficiency, intercultural communication, and technological teaching skills is an urgent need that is currently not well accommodated in existing training programs.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Introduction: Diabetes mellitus can cause microvascular complications, one of the most common being neuropathy, which is triggered by persistent hyperglycemia. Aims: To determine the relationship between random blood glucose levels and the incidence of diabetic neuropathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Methods: This analytical observational study used a cross-sectional design involving 92 Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Neuropathy was assessed using the DNS-Ina questionnaire, while random blood glucose levels were obtained through laboratory tests. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: Among the respondents, 53.3% did not experience hyperglycemia, while 82.3% had diabetic neuropathy. The Chi-square test revealed a p-value of 0.017 with an odds ratio of 4.568, indicating a significant association between random blood glucose levels and diabetic neuropathy. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between random blood glucose levels and the incidence of diabetic neuropathy in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients at H. Abdul Manap Regional Hospital, Jambi City. Keywords: diabetic neuropathy, random blood glucose, Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract

Digital transformation has accelerated the rise of live commerce as a major innovation within the global e-commerce ecosystem, with China emerging as a leading pioneer whose practices have increasingly shaped other markets, including Indonesia. This study investigates the diffusion and adaptation of the Chinese live commerce model through Shopee Live in Indonesia, examines the effects of live commerce stimuli on Generation Z consumers’ purchasing behaviour, and explores the structural implications for vocational Mandarin language competencies in cross-border e-commerce. Adopting a quantitative descriptive–explanatory design, the study employs the Stimulus–Organism–Response framework and the Elaboration Likelihood Model to explain consumer decision-making processes. Data were collected via an online questionnaire administered to 112 Indonesian Generation Z consumers who actively use Shopee Live and were analysed using descriptive and explanatory statistical methods. The findings demonstrate that live commerce stimuli—particularly price promotions, real-time interaction, and host persuasion—significantly influence purchase intention and impulsive buying behaviour, with persuasive effects operating predominantly through the peripheral route. Furthermore, the results reveal a strong interconnection between Shopee Live and cross-border supply chains dominated by Chinese suppliers. This indicates that the diffusion of the live commerce model extends beyond shaping digital consumption patterns to restructuring cross-border business interactions. Consequently, the study underscores the growing strategic importance of vocational Mandarin language competencies that are practical, industry-oriented, and culturally sensitive. It concludes that vocational Mandarin proficiency constitutes a critical component of human resource development in Indonesia’s e-commerce sector amid the intensification of cross-border digital economic integration.
