Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of religiosity in making decisions about purchasing halal cosmetic products. This study uses regression analysis using purposive sampling technique that is sampling in the form of characteristics that have been determined by researchers. The results showed that religiosity affects Muslim consumers in the decision making to purchase halal cosmetic products. Practical implications for the cosmetics industry is to focus on product development based on the concept of halal in order to participate in the global market competition. The importance of considering consumer religiosity in order to gain recognition from national and international markets so that the image of the cosmetics industry has a place in the hearts of consumers.

Abstract

The Islamic finance industry in Indonesia has grown rapidly in the last decade, one of which is marked by the number of sharia stocks. Sharia stocks, based on the underlying principle, prohibit the involvement of investor sentiment which is often used as a consideration in investment decisions because there are elements of tadlees in it. This study examines the influence of investor sentiment on islamic stock prices index. This study aims to analyze whether Islamic stock price indices are influenced by investor sentiment. The representation of Islamic stock price indices are Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) and Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). This study utilizes ARCH/GARCH analysis to determine whether there is an influence of investor sentiment on Islamic stock prices. The statistical tool used is e-views 12.0 program. The research findings stated that investor sentiment influences Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) but doesnt influence Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). The difference in the results between the two Islamic stock indices can be explained by the different constituents and criteria for selecting Islamic stocks

Abstract

This research identifies the driving factors of SMEs' digital innovation and their effects on improving SMEs' financial performance during the COVID-19 pandemic, intending to discover the mediating role of digital innovation in improving SMEs' financial performance through innovation orientation, IT readiness, and digital capability. The type of research is quantitative with a sample of 188 SMEs actors in Surakarta and its surroundings who have adopted e-commerce and fintech, with SEM-PLS modeling analysis. The results show that digital innovation has an important role as a mediator for the variables of digital orientation, IT readiness, and digital capability that affect the improvement of SMEs' financial performance during the COVID 19 pandemic. SMEs that carry out digital innovation through e-commerce and fintech have increased financial performance compared to previously, this was seen from the percentage increase in sales and profits compared to the previous one. This research gives contribution to the new knowledge about the digital innovation of SMEs, the new conceptual framework that connects digital innovation with business performance from the perspective of financial performance. The significant positive effect of digital innovation on improving financial performance shows that it is important for small enterprise to improve their digitization skills and knowledge in business development to fulfill customer needs and improve performance for future business sustainability

Abstract

The Corona Virus Disease (Covid-19) Outbreak weakened the country’s economy all around the world. The tourism industry suffered the most, experiencing the highest stock price decline within a year of the Covid-19 outbreak. The purpose of the study is to examine whether COVID-19 has a significant effect on stock price movements of the Indonesian tourism industry in general and how the capital market reacts to the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia in particular. The study used event-study approach and t-statistical to test the hypothesis. The result showed that on and after the day of announcement of COVID-19 outbreak, eighty four percent of Indonesia tourism stocks showed significantly negative cumulative abnormal returns, indicating a significant impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on tourism stock performance. Empirical findings could be used to make investment decision and estimate future winner investment sector for the similar pandemic.

Abstract

One of the problems faced by santripreneurs in their business is the limited number of customers so that the business cannot develop. This limited number of customers is due to the lack of a broad marketing reach. This limited marketing reach is a result of the technology gap and the inability of the santripreneurs to optimize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) products for business marketing purposes. This community service activity aims to increase the insight, competence and skills of santripreneurs in optimizing ICT products as an effective and efficient marketing medium. The impact to be obtained after this activity is a broad marketing reach as well as a growing and sustainable business. This activity is carried out using the mini survey method, lectures, tutorials, questions and answers and practice. Lectures and questions and answers about the importance of marketing, digital marketing and various marketplaces, while tutorials and practices on how to operate the Canva application to create a more attractive product display. The results of this community service activity include increasing insight, competence and skills. In the practice session, the students were able to create attractive product displays using the Canva application. The students can also make adjustments between the products offered and the various marketplaces that have been described. The students looked enthusiastic, participatory and gave good testimonials and even gave suggestions for the next service agenda. This community service activity has been carried out properly in accordance with the objectives of the activity. This activity has been able to increase the insight, competence and skills of santripreneurs in optimizing ICT products as an effective and efficient marketing medium.

Abstract

Student satisfaction on the use of e-learning is an important role for the continuity of an educational institution, especially in the current era of the covid 19 pandemic, the process of teaching and learning activities that are usually carried out in offline classes is abolished and replaced by utilizing the e-learning system. Because of the importance of the role of e-learning as a medium for student learning, knowledge is needed to determine the level of student satisfaction of e-learning as an evaluation material for managers to improve the quality of e-learning so that it can provide optimal services to students. Therefore, a classification technique with data mining is needed using the c.45 algorithm method on the WEKA (Waikato Environment for Knowledge Analysis) software. The results show that 73% of students are satisfied with the e-learning of the State Islamic University of Semarang and 23% of students are not satisfied with an accuracy of 84.76%.

Abstract

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of altruistic and egoistic as behavioral variables on socially responsible investment decision. This paper also investigates the aspects that investors consider the most in making decisions.Method - A total of 108 sample respondents were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The criteria used are capital market study group students who have at least one ethical stock in their portfolio. Conjoint and regression analysis were involved to conduct the research.Result - The results showed that the investment attributes that investors prioritize are industry focus followed by return and risk. Furthermore, the most preferred industry focus is ‘sustainable asset’ followed by ‘no focus’ and ‘arms and defense’. Investment preferences in sustainable assets are based on the altruistic value of investors. Altruism has been shown to have a significant positive effect on investors' decisions to invest their funds in stock which belong to socially responsible investment. On the other hand, the egoistic value has a significant negative effect on the decision to invest in socially responsible investment.Implication - By looking at the research result, companies as stock issuers may consider to create or make their stock sustainable. This research would be beneficial for investment analysts or consultants in providing advice for their clients.Originality - This research uses altruistic and egoistic variables as psychological variables in investment decisions. In addition to using behavioral finance, it also involves value-belief-norm theory to explain the phenomena and discuss altruistic value in Islam perspective.

Abstract

Ethical investing in various countries is increasingly popular following the number of ethical investors. However, the performance of ethical investments in many developed countries is lower than the performance of the opposite category, unethical stock, or researchers called it as sin stock. This study examines whether the performance of sin stocks in Indonesia is as good as the performance of sin stocks in developed countries considering the very different cultures and religions. This study comprehensively measures the performance of all sin stocks and ethical stocks using the risk-adjusted return approach, the Sharpe and Treynor ratios. To sharpen the analysis, this study also measures the efficiency of all types of stocks using the data envelopment analysis method. The results show that the performance of the sin stock portfolio in Indonesia is different from the facts in developed countries. Sin stocks in Indonesia had the worst performance during 2013-2022 compared to ethical stocks. Furthermore, in terms of efficiency, the SRI-Kehati Index has the highest score compared to all indices. This research contributes to provide theoretical and practical insights about the comparison of the performance of sin stocks and their counterparts in Indonesia which is different from sin stocks in developed countries. The originality of the research includes the creation of a sin stock portfolio and the use of constraint stocks as a proxy for ethical stocks.

Abstract

Hunian lansia merupakan hunian yang terintegrasi dengan layanan wellness untuk kalangan lansia berupa apartemen maupun rumah tinggal yang dapat diperjual-belikan maupun disewakan, juga terdapat fasilitas untuk melakukan kegiatan baik didalam maupun diluar ruangan. Menghadirkan hunian lansia di Banda Aceh dapat menjadikannya sebagai jawaban atas belum adanya hunian lansia di Banda Aceh dengan konsep komunitas dan entertain, saat ini hanya terdapat hunian lansia berupa panti jompo yang disubsidi oleh pemerintah dengan karakter penghuni adalah lansia terlantar. Hunian lansia hanya dapat ditempati oleh para lansia yang sudah mencapai umur 55-60 tahun ke atas dengan fasilitas yang mendukung untuk kegiatan permberdayaan lansia. Hunian ini menuju pada Lansia dengan golongan ekonomi menengah hingga atas dengan latar belakang yang tidak jauh berbeda, dikarenakan sarana dan fasilitas yang diberikan lebih bergengsi dan layak dibandingkan dengan panti jompo. Partisipasi di hunian lansia dapat membuat lansia tetap aktif dan produktif karena mendapatkan kesempatan untuk melakukan ragam kegiatan. Oleh karena itu, hunian lansia ini dirancang dengan menerapkan pendekatan Arsitektur Perilaku dengan tujuan agar hunian ini dapat benar-benar menyediakan apa yang dibutuhkan oleh penggunanya. Penerapan tema rancangan pada bangunan diaplikasikan pada penataan tapak, penataan massa bangunan, penggunaan material lantai yang bertekstur untuk mencegah lansia terjatuh, serta  warna di bedakan untuk mempermudah lansia dalam memahami kondisi jalan atau ruang serta sebagai petunjuk arah.
