Abstract

The low level of Indonesian students’ science literacy as reflected in the PISA 2022 results highlights the need for innovative, contextualized learning media that can bridge scientific concepts with real-life and cultural experiences. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a Liveworksheet-integrated E-LKPD enriched with an ethno-vlog of Bukit Manengteung on ecology and ecosystem material to enhance students’ science literacy. Employing a research and development design with the 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate), the product was validated by experts, tested for readability, and implemented with seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Ciledug during the 2024/2025 academic year. Validation results indicated high feasibility with Aiken’s V values above 0.87, while student responses confirmed that the media was engaging, clear, and easy to use. Effectiveness tests showed a significant improvement in students’ science literacy, with pretest and posttest scores increasing from an average of 45.69 to 81.72 and an N-Gain of 0.68, categorized as medium to high. Improvements were observed across all science literacy dimensions, particularly in scientific attitudes, and the integration of ethno-vlog content enabled students to contextualize ecology concepts within their local cultural environment. These findings confirm that the developed media is valid, practical, and effective, with implications that integrating ethnoscience-based digital media into science instruction can enhance students’ scientific competencies while simultaneously preserving and strengthening cultural identity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the difference and level of problem solving ability of students between before and after applying learning with PjBL-STEM on disaster mitigation sub-materials. This research is an experimental research with one group pretest-posttest research design. The data collection methods used are test and documentation methods. The instruments used include pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results obtained are the application of PjBL-STEM on disaster mitigation sub-materials can improve students' problem solving skills. This is indicated by the results of the t-Test which shows the difference in results between before and after the application of PjBL-STEM, as well as the results of the N-Gain test of 0.57 with a moderate category. The level of students' problem solving abilities after implementing PjBL-STEM as a whole is in good criteria. The highest level of students' problem solving abilities is in the indicator of understanding the problem, while the lowest level is in the indicator of devising a plan.

Abstract

The “Merdeka Belajar” policy and Merdeka Curriculum, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Culture, represent a significant educational innovation in Indonesia. Gugus Srikandi, located in the Gunung Pati District, is an elementary school implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. However, several challenges persist in its implementation. Notably, 67% of teachers report the need for further strengthening in the use of interactive and meaningful learning models to achieve competency and the Profile of Pancasila Students. Observations indicate that teachers have received limited socialization related to the practical implementation of learning models. Furthermore, teachers' readiness to develop and evaluate learning activities with the curriculum still requires improvement. The objective of this initiative was to enhance teachers’ understanding of innovative learning models within the Merdeka Curriculum, as well as to empower them to design and implement active learning. The methodology of this activity involved several stages: needs analysis, program development, program implementation, observation and monitoring, and reflection and evaluation. The training and workshop activities were attended by 80 participants from elementary schools in the Gugus Srikandi. The results of the workshop indicate that teachers at Gugus Srikandi have developed strong pedagogical competencies in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. Teachers are now able to apply innovative learning models to create active and contextual learning experiences
