Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the competence, career development, work discipline, employee performance at the Department of Culture and Tourism of Darmasraya Regency. The method and type of research used is a quantitative research type with a survey research method, data was obtained directly through questionnaires to 48 respondents who are employees at the Department of Education and Culture of Darmasraya Regency. Sampling used the total sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out in several stages, namely 1) Validity test was tested with Pearson correlation (r count > r table). 2) Reliability was tested with Cronbach Alpha (> 0.60 is considered reliable). 3) Normality test to determine whether the data is normally distributed or not 4) T test to determine the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable. 5) F test to determine the effect of competence and career development simultaneously on employee performance. 6) Coefficient of Determination (R²) to determine how much the independent variable contributes to explaining the dependent variable. Based on the research results and discussions that have been presented above, several conclusions can be drawn as follows: 1) Competence variables affect employee performance at the Department of Culture and Tourism of Darmasraya Regency. This means that the better the Competence, the higher the level of performance will be. 2) Career Development variables have a positive effect on employee performance at the Department of Culture and Tourism of Darmasraya Regency. This means that the better the work discipline of employees in an agency, the higher the employee performance will be. 3) Simultaneously, Competence and Career Development have a positive effect on employee performance at the Department of Culture and Tourism of Darmasraya Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership and work culture on employee performance at the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) in Solok Regency. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach using a questionnaire. The number of respondents was 73 Satpol PP employees. Data analysis was carried out in several stages, namely 1) Validity test was tested with Pearson correlation (r count > r table). 2) Reliability was tested with Cronbach Alpha (> 0.60 is considered reliable). 3) Normality test to determine whether the data is normally distributed or not 4) T test to determine the effect of each independent variable on the dependent variable. 5) F test to determine the effect of leadership and work culture simultaneously on employee performance. 6) Coefficient of Determination (R²) to determine how much the independent variable contributes to explaining the dependent variable. Effective leadership, shown by exemplary attitudes, open communication, and participatory decision-making, as well as a conducive work culture such as discipline, responsibility, and teamwork, has been proven to be able to increase employee productivity and work quality. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions in efforts to improve the performance of local government apparatus.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya peran pegawai dalam mendukung efektivitas kinerja organisasi, khususnya pada instansi pemerintah daerah yang memiliki tugas strategis dalam menjaga ketertiban umum dan memberikan pelayanan darurat. Kinerja pegawai tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal individu, tetapi juga oleh gaya kepemimpinan, budaya kerja, dan tingkat pendidikan yang membentuk motivasi kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan, budaya kerja, dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap kinerja pegawai, baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui motivasi sebagai variabel intervening. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif kausal. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh pegawai pada Dinas Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja dan Pemadam Kebakaran Kabupaten Solok dengan jumlah sampel yang ditentukan melalui teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan metode Structural Equation ModelingPartial Least Square (SEM-PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi dan kinerja pegawai; (2) budaya kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi dan kinerja pegawai; (3) tingkat pendidikan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi dan kinerja pegawai; (4) motivasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai; serta (5) motivasi terbukti mampu memediasi secara parsial pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan, budaya kerja, dan tingkat pendidikan terhadap kinerja pegawai. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa peningkatan kinerja pegawai sangat dipengaruhi oleh penerapan gaya kepemimpinan yang efektif, penguatan budaya kerja yang positif, dan peningkatan kualitas pendidikan pegawai, dengan motivasi sebagai faktor penggerak yang memperkuat pengaruh ketiga variabel tersebut.
