Abstract

This study analyzes the Characteristics and Media of Science Learning in Grade 4 of MI Al-Hidayah. This study uses a qualitative research type using observation and interview methods. The study results indicate that in MI Al-Hidayah Gesikharjo in science learning in fourth grade, the learning characteristics applied are contextual and the learning media often used are Pictures, Spinner, and LKS. From this study, it can be concluded that the characteristics of science learning in MI AL-Hidayah are contextual and interactive, while the learning media used are pictures/posters, Spinners, and students’ worksheets.

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara agraris memiliki kekayaan sumber daya alam, khususnya di sektor pertanian. Salah satu komoditas potensial adalah singkong, tanaman yang mudah tumbuh dan kaya karbohidrat. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini berfokus di Desa Jadi, Kecamatan Semanding, Kabupaten Tuban, yang mayoritas penduduknya berprofesi sebagai petani lahan kering. Melalui pendekatan Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), kegiatan ini bertujuan memetakan dan mengembangkan aset lokal, terutama potensi singkong. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara mendalam terhadap masyarakat serta perangkat desa. Hasil kegiatan berupa inovasi produk olahan singkong, yaitu Singkong Karamel dan Kerupuk Seblak Sandariyah (SeblaKriyah), yang tidak hanya menambah variasi pangan lokal, tetapi juga berpotensi menjadi sumber ekonomi alternatif. Pendekatan ABCD terbukti meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap aset yang dimiliki, mendorong kreativitas, serta memperkuat partisipasi sosial dalam pembangunan ekonomi desa secara mandiri dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a local wisdom-based quartet card learning media to improve students’ conceptual understanding in IPAS learning at the fourth-grade level of Islamic elementary school. The background of this study is the low conceptual understanding of students caused by conventional learning methods and the lack of innovative learning media. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects of this study were 14 fourth-grade students. The instruments used included validation sheets, observation sheets, and response questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques and N-Gain. The results showed that the developed media achieved a validity level of 92% (very valid) after revision, a practicality level of 100% (very practical), and an effectiveness level indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.58 (moderate category). In addition, student and teacher responses were very positive, reaching 100% and 91%, respectively. These findings indicate that the local wisdom-based quartet card media is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding. Therefore, this media can be used as an alternative learning tool to create more engaging and meaningful learning experiences.
