Abstract

The development of digital technology in the Society 5.0 era presented both challenges and strategic opportunities for Islamic educational institutions in realizing transparent, accountable, and efficient financial management. Professional financial governance served as a key foundation for building credibility and public trust, particularly in religious-based institutions that manage funds from the government, communities, and donors. This study aimed to analyze the urgency of implementing modern, technology-based financial management as an effort to enhance the transparency and accountability of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. The method employed is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach, conducted through a review of scientific literature, regulations, and the application of financial technology in the education sector. The results indicate that the integration of technologies such as cloud-based accounting systems, block chain, and digital financial applications can accelerate reporting, reduce the risk of fraud, and support real-time, data-driven decision-making. These findings confirm that digital transformation in financial management is a strategic necessity for strengthening governance, increasing stakeholder trust, and reinforcing the role of Islamic educational institutions in shaping future generations in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the role of waqf as a source of funding for higher education in Pakistan and Bangladesh, as well as the challenges in its management. Waqf, as an Islamic endowment, holds significant potential to fund higher education; however, its management in both countries faces various challenges. In Pakistan, waqf for education is mostly managed by private entities with limited government support, while in Bangladesh, despite the long history of waqf, the main issues are the lack of regulation and low public awareness. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review to analyze the management of waqf in both countries. Data were collected through studies of literature, articles, and research related to waqf and higher education. The findings indicate that the potential of waqf can be optimized by adopting innovative approaches such as cash waqf, which has proven effective in several countries, including Malaysia. This approach offers flexibility in fund allocation for scholarships, educational infrastructure development, and the operation of higher education institutions. Furthermore, strengthening regulations, ensuring transparency in waqf management, and increasing public awareness about the importance of waqf in education are essential to maximize waqf's contribution. With these strategic measures, waqf can become a more effective instrument in supporting higher education in Pakistan and Bangladesh, and reduce dependence on public or external funding.

Abstract

The poultry farming sector, particularly broiler farming in Padang Karambia, Indonesia, has seen rapid growth due to partnership systems between local farmers and large companies like PT Ciomas Adisatwa. This study aims to examine the management of partnership systems in broiler farming and the application of Islamic economic principles, such as justice (adl), cooperation (ta'awun), and fair profit-sharing. The methodology employed is in-depth interviews with three key informants: the broiler farm manager, the Head of the Partner Unit at PT Ciomas, and a Field Extension Officer (PPL). The findings indicate that although the partnership system benefits both parties, there is an imbalance in risk and profit sharing. Farmers, who rely heavily on the facilities provided by the company, feel restricted in setting the selling price of the chickens. In the context of Islamic economics, mudarabah or musyarakah systems can better reflect the principle of justice with a more balanced and transparent profit-sharing. Moreover, the principle of cooperation (ta'awun) needs to be reinforced to foster a more harmonious relationship between the company and farmers. This study recommends the application of a partnership system based on sharia principles to create a more sustainable, just, and mutually beneficial relationship, while strengthening Islamic economic values in broiler farming.
