Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use on the study time management of PGSD students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau. The background of this study is the phenomenon of increasing intensity of social media use among students, which has the potential to affect learning effectiveness. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach, where data is collected by distributing Likert-scale questionnaires to student respondents. The survey approach was chosen because it can describe the real conditions of students directly based on their answers, so the results obtained are more representative. The results show that the level of social media use is in the moderate category, while students' study time management skills are in the fairly good category. These findings indicate that although students actively use social media, they are still able to manage their time effectively so that the negative impacts of social media can be minimized. This study contributes by confirming that the key factor in maintaining learning effectiveness in the digital era lies not in the frequency of social media use, but in students' discipline and time management skills. Thus, the results of this study enrich the understanding of the role of time management as a balance between social media use and academic activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using the Canva application on the creativity of Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) students in developing digital learning media. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a correlational approach. The sample consisted of 30 PGSD students selected through purposive sampling, and data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The results showed that students’ use of Canva was categorized as very good, with a percentage of 87.33% (average score 4.37). Meanwhile, students’ creativity in creating learning media was categorized as good, with a percentage of 82.40% (average score 4.12). Students demonstrated strong abilities in operating Canva, modifying templates, and experimenting with visual elements. In terms of creativity, they were able to generate multiple ideas, adapt designs to diverse student characteristics, and pay close attention to design details. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan metode eksperimen dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perubahan wujud zat pada siswa kelas IV SD 105 Pekanbaru. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen. Seluruh siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 26 orang dijadikan sampel. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) yang dirancang untuk mengukur pemahaman siswa setelah mengikuti kegiatan eksperimen. Kegiatan eksperimen dilakukan secara berkelompok dengan menggunakan es batu sebagai media utama untuk mengamati perubahan wujud zat dari padat ke cair dan cair ke gas. Data diperoleh melalui hasil pengerjaan soal pilihan ganda dan esai yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode eksperimen mengalami peningkatan pemahaman konsep secara signifikan. Nilai rata-rata keseluruhan berada pada kategori “Baik” hingga “Sangat Baik”, membuktikan bahwa metode eksperimen efektif dalam membangun pemahaman konseptual dan keterampilan berpikir ilmiah siswa secara aktif dan menyenangkan.
