Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors causing difficulties and the views of Papuan students regarding the use of standard Indonesian in an academic environment, as well as to design effective learning strategies to improve their abilities. Standard language is a variation of language used in formal contexts as a standard of communication, which not only functions as a tool for conveying ideas, but also serves as the main foundation for students' academic success. This study adopts a library research approach through the collection and analysis of data from books, journals, notes, and relevant reports, combined with quantitative methods using test instruments (quizzes through the Quizizz application) and questionnaires to measure respondents' understanding and views. The research population consisted of Papuan students enrolled in the 2024 academic year at Medan State University, with a sample of 27 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that these students experienced various difficulties in applying standard Indonesian, including oral communication, writing scientific reports, and formal interactions with lecturers and peers. The main inhibiting factors included the habit of using regional languages or Papuan dialects, low self-confidence, and minimal encouragement from the campus environment. However, the majority of respondents showed a positive attitude in the form of pride in using standard language, which could be used as capital for developing language skills. Therefore, systematic coaching strategies are needed from the campus, such as academic writing training, standard language discussion forums, lecturer assistance, and student organization support, in order to accelerate academic-social adaptation and strengthen the role of Indonesian as a unifying language in higher education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat sikap ilmiah mahasiswa serta menganalisis strategi pengembangannya yang berlandaskan nilai-nilai Pancasila di Program Studi Pendidikan Administrasi Perkantoran Kelas A Stambuk 2024 Universitas Negeri Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei untuk mengukur fenomena perilaku akademik secara sistematis. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran angket skala Likert yang memuat indikator sikap ilmiah terintegrasi dengan sila-sila Pancasila, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa berada pada kategori "Sangat Baik" dengan persentase capaian 85,2% atau skor rata-rata 4,26. Analisis spesifik memperlihatkan bahwa aspek Kejujuran Akademik (Sila Ketuhanan) memperoleh capaian tertinggi dengan skor 4,62, yang mengindikasikan kuatnya integritas moral mahasiswa dalam menghindari plagiasi. Sebaliknya, aspek Berpikir Kritis memiliki skor terendah namun tetap dalam kategori baik. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran kolaboratif dan berbasis proyek berkontribusi signifikan dalam memperkuat karakter ilmiah mahasiswa, terutama pada aspek kerja sama dan tanggung jawab social

Abstract

This research aims to analyze apparatus readiness strategies and work culture on information service quality through DEVAKAD application utilization in the Office Administration Education Study Program, State University of Medan. Qualitative descriptive approach employed observation, structured interviews with one DEVAKAD manager and three final-year students, and document analysis at the study program office in November 2025. Findings reveal apparatus possess strong technical readiness in document verification and issue response, supported by adaptive work culture accelerating digital services despite incomplete dynamic information. Conclusion confirms significant positive influence of apparatus readiness and work culture on DEVAKAD effectiveness. Recommendations include ongoing training and innovation-oriented culture reinforcement; implications enhance transparency, good governance efficiency, and academic user satisfaction.
