Abstract

Education is one of the important pillars in nation development. In the current era of globalization, education is not only required to produce intelligent and skilled individuals, but also individuals with noble character. An important character that needs to be instilled in students is the character of independence and responsibility. Independent character means having the ability to complete tasks and responsibilities well without depending on other people. Meanwhile, responsible character means having the awareness to accept the consequences of the actions taken and being willing to resolve them as best as possible. This case study was conducted to explain the teacher's role in building the character of independence and responsibility in the learning process. Teachers at SD Karang in Bogorejo District, Blora Regency are the subjects of research with results and discussion of characteristics, roles and inhibiting and supporting factors in cultivating the character of independence and responsibility at SD N Karang. Research results: Cultivating the character of independence and responsibility in elementary schools is an important and complex effort. Various driving and inhibiting factors need to be considered to achieve optimal results. It requires commitment and cooperation from all parties involved, namely school leaders, teachers, parents and students themselves, to create an environment conducive to character development. Keywords: Character education, independence, responsibility, learning process, teacher's role

Abstract

The development of models in the era of digitalization has become an important part of the education sector. The urgency of this research is to investigate digital-based problem based learning models for elementary school teacher education students. An important finding in this research is metacognitive awareness in problem based learning which is carried out on a digital basis, to facilitate the development of critical and creative thinking of prospective elementary school teachers. Problem based learning model to encourage student academic success. This research aims to develop an Android-based learning system to improve elementary school students' thematic learning. This research and development uses the simplified Borg and Gall model by Sukmadinata, which consists of preliminary studies, media development and media testing. The research subjects were fifth grade elementary school students in the Blora area, Central Java. Data collection was carried out using tests, questionnaires and interviews. The collected data was then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model, while quantitative analysis uses a combined paired sample t test. The results of product testing for an Android-based thematic learning system report the value of the Paired Sample T Test. The signature for the post-test value is 0.012 < 0.05 or H0 is rejected. Thus, there is an influence of the use of the learning system in each study group on the consideration of student learning outcomes. So it can be concluded that the integrative thematic learning system developed is suitable for use by teachers and students in elementary schools to improve learning outcomes.Keyword: Thematic Learning System, Effective Learning Media, Elementary School

Abstract

This research is motivated by the minimal use of interesting and enjoyable learning media, as well as the absence of learning media.ARat SDN 1 Gempolrejo. Learning media is still in printed form, so the display is less attractive and the variations are limited, so students feel bored. This study aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media using the Assemblr Edu platform in the form of a Merge Cube, and to test the feasibility of the resulting product. The media developed is a 3D visual material that can be accessed via QR Code on the sides of the Merge Cube. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analisys, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects of the study were 24 fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Gempolrejo. Data collection techniques included interviews, questionnaires, and documentation; data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively from 3 media validators, namely design experts, material experts, and language experts as well as the results of small group student trials, large group trials, and from fifth-grade teachers. The validation results showed that the media was very suitable for use, with an assessment from design experts of 97%, material experts 80%, and language experts 94%. Student responses showed high interest (91%) and teachers rated the media as very interesting (94%). Thus, this media was declared valid, interesting, and suitable for use as a reference for science learning, especially natural disaster material.
