The group will take part in the initial stage, namely the pre test to determine the level of knowledge of students about DaGuSiBu (Can Use, Save and Discard) drugs. The results of counseling using snake ladder media showed an increase in students' knowledge regarding DaGuSiBu medicine. In conclusion, the use of media in DaGuSiBu Medicine counseling at the school children's level is very helpful, so that school children can apply their knowledge in their surroundings. Abstract

Antiinflammatory activity of ethyl acetate extracts of the leaves of plant Akar Kaik-kaik Uncaria cordata (Lour.) Merr on white male rats. This research examined the quality of crude drugs and extracts ethyl acetate. It is intended to obtain raw materials which can ultimately ensure uniform pharmacologic effect. Antiinflammatory activity of the ethyl acetate extract were tested using the method of paw edema against white male rats. The research were 15 rats mile which divided into 5 groups. Negative control (Na CMC 1%), positive control (Na diklofenak dose 4,5 mg/kgBB) and extract group ethyl acetat with the dose 100, 200 and 400 mg/kgBB given orally. The volume measurement after subcutaneous injection caragen 1% performed with one hour interval for 5 hours assessing with pletysmometer and calculated the inhibition persen. The result of this study showed that the quality of crude drugs and extract ethyl acetate meet the specified requirements Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopoeia. Ethyl acetate extract has significant anti-inflammatory effects to the negative control at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kgBB while against the positive control did not differ significantly white male rats.

Abstract

Infectious disease is a disease caused by microorganisms which is the body's response due to immune stimulation. One of the herbal ingredients used as a therapeutic agent is neem (Azadirachta indica A.Juss). This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolites, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and antibacterial activity found in n-hexane and ethanol extracts of neem leaves to Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The extraction method used is the maceration method, the MIC method used is the liquid dilution method and the antibacterial activity test uses the disc diffusion method. The results of the phytochemical screening showed that the simplicia, n-hexane and ethanol extract of neem leaves positively contained flavonoids, saponins, tannins, steroids/triterpenoids. The MIC test results on the ethanol extract was obtained at a concentration of 6.25%. The ethanol extract with a concentration of 7% has weak activity at a concentration of 14% and 21% has moderate activity.
