Abstract

Purpose: This study evaluated an inventory system integrating LSTM forecasting and Hyperledger Fabric blockchain to improve prediction accuracy and transaction integrity. Design/Methods: A design-and-development approach used 12,450 inventory records from Retail Company X (January 2021-December 2023), split chronologically into 70% training, 15% validation, and 15% testing subsets. The LSTM used two hidden layers, 128 units per layer, dropout 0.2, Adam optimizer, learning rate 0.001, batch size 64, and 100 epochs. Blockchain used Hyperledger Fabric with Raft consensus. Evaluation included forecasting benchmarks, 50 stock-modification simulations, and 45 purposively recruited users after hands-on prototype interaction. Findings: LSTM achieved MAE 3.2% and RMSE 4.5%, outperforming Moving Average and Exponential Smoothing. A two-tailed paired-samples t-test across 62 matched testing windows against Exponential Smoothing confirmed significant improvement (t(61) = -5.34, p < 0.001, Cohen's dz = 0.68). Blockchain detected 48 of 50 unauthorized stock modifications, producing a 96% detection rate with two missed detections (4%) and 120 ms latency. User evaluation was positive across forecast accuracy, security, transparency, ease of use, and intention to use. Implications: The prototype can support inventory planning, auditability, and secure transaction records. Originality: The study empirically combines AI forecasting, permissioned blockchain integrity, and user acceptance in one inventory workflow.

Abstract

Wedding organizer (WO) package selection is a complex multi-criteria decision-making process that has long relied on subjective consultations. At Adhinatha Wedding Organizer, this process is still carried out manually through WhatsApp-based consultation, producing recommendations that tend to be subjective and fail to accommodate customer preferences across eight competing criteria. Previous decision support system (DSS) studies in the wedding organizer domain generally rely on a single ranking method, so results have never been cross-checked or validated by domain experts. The contribution of this research is to fill that gap by developing a web-based DSS integrating the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) for criteria weighting with three ranking methods, namely Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA), Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), applied to eight criteria and thirty-six package alternatives. This research aims to design and build a web-based DSS through data collection, criteria weighting with AHP, alternative ranking, expert validation, and weight sensitivity testing. The three rankings are compared, validated against an expert consensus using Spearman correlation, and tested for stability via ±5% weight sensitivity analysis. The results show MOORA produces the ranking most consistent with expert judgment (rho = 0.998) and the most stable underweight change and is therefore selected as the system's primary ranking engine. The system is developed using the waterfall method, modeled with UML, and implemented using PHP and MySQL. It is expected to provide faster, more transparent, and more accountable package recommendations for Adhinatha Wedding Organizer customers.

Abstract

Gold is widely recognized as a safe-haven asset whose price is sensitive to economic and geopolitical uncertainty. This study develops a web-based international gold price prediction system using the Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) algorithm and evaluates the contribution of geopolitical sentiment from the X social media platform. The study uses historical XAUUSD data and English-language posts related to the Iran–United States–Israel conflict. Text data were processed through cleaning, case folding, tokenization, stopword removal, lemmatization, TF-IDF transformation, and sentiment analysis using VADER. The resulting daily sentiment scores were integrated with historical gold price features and used as an additional input to the GRU model. Two experimental scenarios were evaluated: GRU without sentiment and GRU with sentiment. The results show that the GRU model without sentiment achieved an MAE of 55.07, RMSE of 69.81, MAPE of 1.17%, and R² of 0.9629, while the model with sentiment achieved an MAE of 80.87, RMSE of 92.93, MAPE of 1.72%, and R² of 0.9342. These findings indicate that incorporating daily aggregated social media sentiment did not improve prediction performance for the dataset used. The developed Flask-based web application provides prediction, sentiment analysis, visualization, and model evaluation features, demonstrating the practical implementation of the proposed approach.

Abstract

This study develops an automated sentiment analysis system for classifying reviews of the RSI Sunan Kudus mobile application, collected from Google Play Store, Google Maps, and YouTube (N = 1,428). Sentiment labels were automatically assigned using a domain-adapted Indonesian lexicon (87 positive / 100 negative terms), with label reliability validated against a human-annotated gold-standard subset (n = 100, two annotators; κ = 0.900, almost perfect agreement), yielding 85.71% classifier accuracy against adjudicated labels. After excluding neutral reviews, a binary multinomial Naive Bayes classifier was evaluated via 5-fold stratified cross-validation, achieving 91.01 ± 1.13% accuracy and 89.20 ± 1.48% macro F1-score. Class imbalance (ratio = 2.39:1) was addressed using SMOTE within each training fold in feature-vector space. An ablation study across six model-vectoriser combinations identified LinearSVC with Bag-of-Words as best-performing (Macro F1 = 96.03 ± 1.34%); a preprocessing ablation showed the six-stage normalisation pipeline did not meaningfully improve Macro F1 over simpler variants. Cross-platform transfer experiments revealed substantial generalisation gaps (e.g., Macro F1 dropping from 81.1% to 26.8% for a Google-Maps-trained model applied to YouTube), underscoring the value of multi-platform data collection. Findings indicate three primary service pain points: OTP/login failures, long waiting times, and application connectivity issues.
