Abstract

 Teaching techniques are commonly used by English teacher in teaching English in Indonesia. The teacher uses teaching techniques to create equal learning opportunities to each student because each student has different needs and interests. SMAN 1 Jayapura is the first senior high schools in Jayapura, which was built on 1st August 1965. This school is also a favorite school. The students are from many ethnics in Indonesia such as Javanese, Sudanese, Melanesia, Toraja, Bugis, Moluccas, etc.In this descriptive qualitative research design, the researcher limited the problem to the teaching techniques used by English teacher in the tenth and eleventhth classes at SMAN 1 Jayapura. The subject of this study was one of the English teachers at SMAN 1 Jayapura. Therefore, the purposes of this research were to describe kinds of teaching technique used by the English teacher, and to explain the strengths and weaknesses the teaching technique used by the teacher in teaching English at SMAN 1 Jayapura. In collecting the data, the researcher used three kinds of instruments. They were observation checklist, interview guide and documentation.Based on the data, the researcher found that the teacher used complete the dialogue, transformation drill, antonyms/synonyms, scramble sentences, question and answer exercise, peer correction, fill the blank, reading aloud and small group tasks as the teaching techniques used in teaching English. Additionally, the researcher also found that there were several strengths of using teaching techniques in teaching English. Those strengths were the techniques could make students active in learning process and the students were focus to understand the material and also it can improve the Students’ skill in English. However, the researcher also found that the weakness of using teaching techniques in teaching English. The weakness was it was difficult for the teacher to get students’ attention. Key words: teaching techniques, teaching English SMAN 1

Abstract

The objective of the research is to find out the psychological factors affect students’ speaking performance The research is  descriptive qualitative research. The participant of this research was taken through random sampling technique. The participant of this class is class A which consist of 47 students. The research instrument of this research is questionnaire. In this research, the technique analysis data are collecting data, categorized the data based on indicators, describe the data and make conclusion. Based on the result of the research e, there are several psychological factors which become the barriers for the students n performing their speaking, they are anxiety, fear of making mistakes, shyness, lack of motivation, and lack of confidence. These psychological factors not only appear from one student who is presenting his speaking competence in front of the class, but also from other students who act as audience in individual speaking activity.Keywords: psychological factors, speaking performance

Abstract

Sebagian  besar  sektor  bidang  telah  dipengaruhi  oleh  teknologi  digital,  salah satunya  bidang  pendidikan.  Dengan adanya teknologi  digital, diharapkan  proses  pembelajaran dapat ditingkatkan. Teknologi ini menawarkan berbagai media pembelajaran, mengurangi keterbatasan ruang dan waktu, serta meningkatkan keterampilan digital siswa. Mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah  siswa  Mts Nurul Falah Airmolek. Berdasarkan observasi awal menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi digital di Lokasi ini masih sangat minim. Oleh karena itu, teknologi digital dapat menjadi Solusi bagi Pendidikan yang mengalami keterbatasan ruang belajar, terutama dengan fasilitas yang tersedia untuk penerapannya.  Diharapkan  melalui  kegiatan  PKM  ini, diharapkan pengetahuan siswa tentang teknologi digital dapat meningkat, serta dapat memicu motivasi mereka dalam belajar. Hal ini juga bertujuan agar menumbuhkan sikap positif dan komitmen yang kuat terhadap Pendidikan. Metode  yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode analisis, pendidikan, dan edukasi yang akan dilaksanakan oleh tim pelaksana  pengabdian.  Pengabdian  ini  nantinya  akan  menggunakan  presentasi  serta  simulasi  pengenalan  dan penerapan  teknologi  digital  dalam  pembelajaran. Hasil  dari  kegiatan  pengabdian  ini  adalah  meningkatnya kemampuan  dan  pengetahuan  siswa  mengenai  teknologi  digital  dan  penerapannya  dalam  pendidikan,  untuk kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam kegiatan belajar.

Abstract

Grammar is the study of all the contrasts of meaning that it is possible to make within sentences. In teaching and learning process grammar can help the teacher to communication, translation and easily interaction. Communicating point in the easiest to understand and most persuasive way possible trumps correct grammar every time. aims to find out the main factors that contribute to the existence of these difficulties.The results of this study can help the Ministry of Education, the EFL teachers, the curriculum designers, and the designers of assessment tools to understand the reasons why students in eleventh grade find difficult in grammar and translation. Two instruments were used in the present study, and they are lesson observations, and interviews. Data collected on this issue revealed that there are some major grammar and translation difficulties encountered by the students at this level. These are about grammar and translation the difficult the factors.

Abstract

This study aims to use new technology in English learning at VOCATIONAL HIGH EDUCATION LEVEL. The development of new technology has had a very significant impact on education, especially in increasing effectiveness and motivation in the learning process. The technology used is laptops, mobile phones, voice recorders and projectors. Qualitative descriptive research methods with observation, interviews and documentation were used to collect data. The results of the study indicate that the use of new technology greatly increases students' learning motivation, especially through internet visualization connected via smartphones. However, there are several obstacles, such as unstable internet connections, which are still difficulties that need to be fixed. This study also provides responses to improve the use of new technology more effectively in the English learning process, by paying attention to the use of better new technology in the learning process.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya masalah yang sudah sangat mengkhawatirkan, yaitu penggunaan narkoba dikalangan remaja terutama remaja Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) sederajat. Harapan masyarakat sekolah mampu menjadi salah tempat pencegahan dan penyebaran narkoba terutama dikalangan pelajar. Melalui Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat bekerjasama dengan SMK Keuangan Pekanbaru melakukan seminar terkait pencegahan bahaya narkoba pada remaja. Alasan yang mendasari SMK Keuangan Pekanbaru sebagai tempat sosialisasi pencegahan bahaya narkoba yaitu menjawab berbagai permasalahan yang ada di Sekolah terkait pencegahan bahaya narkoba, minimnya edukasi dalam bentuk seminar, pelatihan maupun diskusi terbuka terhadap siswa SMK Keuangan Pekanbaru terkait bahaya narkoba dan sebagai bentuk kerjasama Antara pihak kampus dan sekolah dalam mencegah penyebaran narkoba pada siswa SMK. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman tentang bahaya narkoba di kalangan generasi muda, khususnya siswa SMK Keuangan Pekanbaru. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, klasifikasi, dampak dan pecegahan narkoba di kalangan remaja.
