Abstract

PT. P is one of the pharmaceutical companies widely known in Indonesia, producing various types of health-related products, including medicines and medical devices. One of the products manufactured by PT. P is the F2 drug. Field observations and interviews conducted during the production process of the F2 drug revealed several production issues. These issues include waiting times and bottlenecks at certain workstations. This study was conducted to analyze line balancing in the production of the F2 drug to achieve an optimal production process. The research provides alternative proposals that improve the balance of the production line compared to the initial condition.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing prevalence of diabetes in society is often caused by unhealthy eating patterns, particularly the high consumption of sugary drinks. Unhealthy diets can trigger various health issues such as obesity, cancer, depression, heart disease, cognitive decline, and metabolic disorders. One solution that can be offered is the use of Stevia, a native plant of America that contains natural sweeteners. Stevia not only serves as a healthier alternative to sugar but also offers various beneficial biological activities. Excessive sugar consumption has been proven to increase the prevalence of diabetes, making education on alternative sweeteners an urgent need for communities, including in the Limo area. Through an analysis of local community needs, education on the benefits of using Stevia as a sugar substitute and proper daily consumption knowledge can raise awareness about the importance of healthy eating habits. This initiative aims to equip the community with knowledge on how to process Stevia leaves into an alternative sweetener. Thus, it is hoped that the community will adopt healthier eating habits and reduce the risk of diseases related to excessive sugar consumption.

Abstract

Traditional textile SMEs still rely on manual processes, resulting in inefficiencies in production and data management. This study proposes a cost-conscious digitalization framework that integrates Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), a lightweight information layer, and artificial intelligence (AI), specifically designed for labour-intensive textile operations. The framework adheres to the ISA-95 architecture, emphasizing affordability and scalability. Stakeholder interviews, business process reengineering, and a three-month field implementation were conducted in a textile hub in Bandung. Key digital tools, including e-kiosks for real-time logging, integrated digital scales for inventory management, and mobile vision-based quality control using convolutional neural networks (Xception and VGG), were evaluated through an immersion study and user acceptance testing. Evaluation results show improvements in workflow visibility, data reliability, and consistency of quality inspection compared to the pre-digitalized process, while maintaining ease of use for operators. Evaluation results indicate qualitative operational improvements—such as enhanced workflow visibility, more reliable data capture, and more consistent quality inspection—reflecting meaningful enhancements observed during the digitalization pilot. The study contributes a replicable CPS–AI model that enables traditional SMEs to enhance efficiency and quality through scalable digital transformation.
