Abstract

Abstract :this study aims to describe the difficulties experienced by high school students in solving open ended questions on arithmetic sequences. As for the type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects used in the study consisted of 2 high-ability students, 2 moderate-ability students and 2 low-ability students. The research instruments used consisted of tests and interviews. As for the results of data analysis, there were 2 students with high abilities, 1 person had no diddicurlty in solving the question,whie 1 other person had difficulty solving question number 2. While for moderate ability there were 2 students able to describe the problem but still wrong and not finished, whereas students who have low abilities have difficulties in solving the questions thoroughly because none of the students are able to answer questions properly and correctly, it is difficult to understand the intent or meaning of the questions given, and they are only able to explain what is known and what is being asked. While the results of this study stated that students with high abilites had no mistakes in solving word problems, for moderate abilites there were a number of things that needed to be improved, especially the operation part, whilw low abilities has difficulties in understanding the concept of algebraic operations. So it can be concluded that students who have 85%, medium ability as ,much as 70% and low ability as much as 55%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terjadi variasi tingkat Mathematic Anxiety pada subjek yang diteliti, mendeskripsikan kaitan antara tingkat motivasi belajar dengan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety dan mendeskripsikan kaitan antara tingkat hasil belajar dengan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan segala hasil penemuan-penemuan permasalahan pada subjek yang diteliti. Adapun hasil-hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yakni Setiap kelas menunjukan hasil analisis yang berbeda, pada kelas XI IPS I tingkat motivasi belajar berbanding lurus dengan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety. Ketegori tingkat motivasi belajar dan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety kelas XI IPS I berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase sebesar 38%. Pada kelas XI IPS II secara klasikal menunjukan bahwa tingkatan Motivasi belajar dalam kategori sedang dan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety tinggi dengan persentase sebesar 43%. Sedangkang kelas XI IPS VI menunjukan hasil yang sebaliknya dimana kelas ini secara klasikal masuk dalam kategori tingkat motivasi belajar tinggi dengan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety sedang dengan persentase sebesar 42%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat motivasi belajar dan tingkat Mathematic Anxiety tidak selamanya saling mempengaruhi satu sama lain.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran matematika serta dampaknya terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII A SMPN 6 Kopang. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 26 siswa (14 laki-laki dan 12 perempuan). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, angket motivasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes hasil belajar. Hasil observasi menunjukkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran sebesar 73,21%. Angket motivasi menunjukkan respons positif dengan skor 78,5% untuk pernyataan positif dan 75% untuk pernyataan negatif. Hasil tes menunjukkan seluruh siswa mencapai KKTP dengan rata-rata skor 3,32 untuk menjelaskan sifat dan perbedaan persegi, serta 3,28 untuk menghitung keliling dan luas persegi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model PBL efektif meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa, terutama dalam pembelajaran matematika kontekstual

Abstract

This study started from the problem of low interest in learning and lack of understanding of mathematical concepts in elementary school students, especially in the material of circles. To overcome this problem, an inquiry-based learning approach was used which was supported by animated video media. By using an inquiry learning approach assisted by animated videos, this study aims to determine its effect on students' interest in learning and understanding of mathematical concepts. The research activities were carried out in class IV SDN 4 Pringgabaya in the 2024/2025 academic year using a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group design type. The research subjects were divided into two groups, each consisting of 26 students, namely the experimental group and the control group. Data were collected through a questionnaire to assess learning interest and a written test to measure understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on the results of the normality test, the data were not normally distributed, so data analysis was carried out using the Mann-Whitney nonparametric test. The results of the analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 for both aspects studied, namely learning interest and conceptual understanding (p <0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. This shows that the use of animated video-assisted inquiry has proven effective in increasing learning interest and understanding of elementary school students' mathematical concepts.
