Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of Shopee's "Double Date" discount on the consumer behavior of students of the Communication Science Study Program at Sriwijaya University class of 2023. In the digital era, discount-based promotions are increasingly popular among consumers, especially among students with limited purchasing power. The research method used is a quantitative survey with data collection through questionnaires distributed to 50 students. Data analysis is carried out using a simple linear regression technique to see the relationship between the effect of Shopee discounts and consumptive behavior. Research results show that the "Double Date" discount has a positive and significant influence on students' purchasing decisions, with the main influencing factors being the motivation to get goods at a lower price and social influence from peers. This finding is expected to provide insight for e-commerce platforms and academics in understanding the trend of consumption behavior of the young generation in the digital era.

Abstract

Sejak pergantian abad, kemajuan teknologi seluler telah mendorong interaksi daring, termasuk dalam pemerintahan. Di Indonesia, media sosial menjadi inovasi penting dalam tata kelola pemerintahan karena memungkinkan partisipasi publik secara langsung. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi efektivitas penggunaan Instagram oleh Diskominfo Kota Palembang dalam meningkatkan pelayanan publik, dengan metode kualitatif melalui studi literatur. Data diambil dari unggahan Instagram dan situs resmi, dianalisis menggunakan teori efektivitas organisasi Gibson, Ivancevich, dan Donnelly. Hasilnya, meskipun konten telah diproduksi secara rutin dan informasi publik tersampaikan dengan lebih transparan, interaksi dan keterlibatan masyarakat masih perlu ditingkatkan. Diperlukan strategi yang lebih baik untuk mengoptimalkan peran media sosial dalam mendukung pelayanan publik dan tata kelola pemerintahan. Since the turn of the century, advances in mobile technology have driven bold interactions, including in government. In Indonesia, social media has become an important innovation in government governance because it allows direct public participation. This research is the effectiveness of the use of Instagram by the Palembang City Diskominfo in improving public services, using qualitative methods through literature studies. Data was taken from Instagram posts and official websites, analyzed using Gibson, Ivancevich, and Donnelly's organizational effectiveness theory. As a result, even though content has been produced regularly and public information is conveyed more transparently, public engagement and interaction still needs to be improved. A better strategy is needed to optimize the role of social media in supporting public services and government governance.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) represents the implementation of students academic knowledge through direct engagement with society. In the context of rapid digital development, communities are required to possess adequate digital literacy skills to filter information and use technology wisely. However, in reality, many people still lack sufficient understanding of digital media, particularly in dealing with hoaxes and online fraud. This study aims to analyze the communication strategies employed by KKN students in improving digital literacy among the community in 11 Ilir Subdistrict, Palembang City. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques based on KKN activity logbooks. The results show that the communication strategies applied by students were carried out through interpersonal and participatory approaches, such as door-to-door socialization, assistance for MSMEs in using QRIS, and the use of social media as a public communication tool. The implemented programs were able to improve community understanding in filtering information and encourage the use of digital technology in daily life. Although there were several technical challenges in the field, the communication strategies were considered effective in gradually enhancing the community’s digital literacy. Kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) merupakan bentuk implementasi pengabdian mahasiswa kepada masyarakat melalui penerapan ilmu yang diperoleh selama perkuliahan. Dalam konteks perkembangan teknologi digital yang semakin pesat, masyarakat dituntut memiliki kemampuan literasi digital yang memadai agar dapat menyaring informasi serta memanfaatkan teknologi secara bijak. Namun, pada kenyataannya masih banyak masyarakat yang belum sepenuhnya memahami penggunaan media digital, khususnya dalam menghadapi hoaks dan penipuan online. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi komunikasi mahasiswa KKN dalam meningkatkan literasi digital masyarakat di Kelurahan 11 Ilir Kota Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi yang bersumber dari logbook kegiatan KKN. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan mahasiswa dilakukan melalui pendekatan interpersonal dan partisipatif, seperti sosialisasi door to door, pendampingan UMKM dalam penggunaan QRIS, serta pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai sarana komunikasi publik. Program yang dilaksanakan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat dalam memilah informasi serta mendorong pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Meskipun terdapat kendala teknis di lapangan, strategi komunikasi yang digunakan dinilai cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi digital masyarakat secara bertahap.
