Abstract

Type II Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels at times equal to or more than 200 mg/dL, and fasting blood sugar levels above or equal to 126 mg/dl. Diabetes Mellitus as a non-communicable disease is the number one cause of death in the world. It is estimated that 422 million adults lived with diabetes mellitus in 2014. Based on the 2018 Riskesdas results, the prevalence of type 2 DM based on doctor's diagnosis in Indonesia was 2.0%, whereas in 2013 it was only 1.5%. The aim of this research is the application of cinnamon bark decoction to reduce blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus sufferers. This research was conducted in the working area of the Lubuk Basung Community Health Center with a Quasi-Experimental research type with the research design being a one group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted for 3 days on all clients suffering from Diabetes Mellitus who met the inclusion criteria. The research results showed that the average pretest blood sugar with cinnamon bark decoction in respondents was 215.88 mg/dL. The posttest blood sugar results for respondents with cinnamon bark were 163.38 mg/dL.The difference in reducing blood sugar levels in respondents with cinnamon bark was 52.5 mg/dl.So it can be concluded that there is an influence on sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients by giving cinnamon decoction.

Abstract

Behavior is an organism's response to internal and external stimuli. By definition, behavior is an action performed by a living being in reaction to a stimulus. A consistent pattern of response to specific stimuli is categorized as behavior. An animal's ability to survive is reflected in these behavioral patterns. Each animal species has a unique way of acting, corresponding to their anatomical structure. Therefore, it is crucial to study animal behavior patterns in depth, given their critical role in maintaining ecosystem sustainability and balance. This research aims to investigate how the provision of stimuli to animals generates responses in the form of behavioral patterns towards their environment. By writing this research, it is hoped that the general public can understand more about animal behavior patterns. This research method is a literature review or literature review through several research articles, this review is done by searching from a database in the form of Google Scholar and obtaining 5 research articles.

Abstract

This educational process does not only focus on knowledge transfer; it also develops a wide range of individual potential, including academic abilities, relationships, talents, aptitudes, physical abilities, and the arts. Progressivism education is essential to the understanding and implementation of true education in Indonesia. Progressivism education educates students to face and solve problems in social life. This shows how important education is to produce people who are beneficial to society and the country (Sulkifly, 2020). This research uses a quantitative approach and is classified as quantitative descriptive research. This research method is conducted by collecting numerical data. This process of collecting and analyzing data is known as research design or research design. This indicates that the research includes planning and conducting it. The design starts with observing and evaluating known research until further evidence is needed. In the research design, a pre-test and post-test control group was used. This test is done with pearson correlation or by comparing r count with r table. Data validity can be seen if rcount> rtable with 5%. If rtable < rcount then it is said to be valid. The results of the T table test show that the t count obtained is 14.450 has a significance value of 0.000, which indicates that the seventh grade science subject matter has a significant effect on improving students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, F table obtained 208.806 or greater than F table (208.806 greater than 4.351).

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of problem-based learning (PBL) in enhancing student learning outcomes in Green Chemistry at MAS MTI Batang Kabung, Padang City. The research addresses the prevalent use of conventional teaching methods, which have resulted in low student engagement and academic performance. A classroom action research design, based on Kemmis and McTaggart's model, was employed. The study population comprised Grade X Phase E students from the 2023/2024 academic year, with a sample drawn from classes X.1 and X.2. Data collection methods included observation, questionnaires, documentation, and field notes. Analysis of learning outcomes utilized percentage techniques and t-tests. The implementation of PBL showed significant improvement in student learning outcomes. Average scores increased from 71.61% in the first cycle to 86.96% in the second cycle. These results demonstrate that PBL effectively enhances student performance in Green Chemistry education at MAS MTI Batang Kabung. This research contributes to the growing body of evidence supporting the use of active learning strategies in chemistry education, particularly in the Indonesian context. The findings suggest that wider adoption of PBL could lead to improved educational outcomes in similar settings.

Abstract

In Indonesia, environmental pollution is a major concern, especially in industrialised and urban areas. The use of synthesised microorganisms can be an innovative solution to rehabilitate the damaged ecosystems in this region. In this research, an innovative approach based on synthetic biological engineering will be developed to create microbes that have an optimal capacity to absorb and decompose various types of environmental pollutants, such as heavy metals (Pb and Hg), hydrocarbons (benzene), and organic waste (phenol). The results show that the engineered bacteria Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas putida, Bacillus subtilis, and Alcaligenes eutrophus showed high pollutant removal efficiency (85-93%) under laboratory conditions. These results support the potential of synthetic biology technology as an innovative solutions in bioremediation of polluted environments. This research makes a real contribution to green technology innovation in environmental pollution mitigation, supporting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially on points 6 (Clean Water) and 15 (Land Ecosystems).

Abstract

Rapid industrial growth has significantly contributed to environmental pollution, particularly through hazardous waste disposal. Industrial waste, including heavy metals and toxic organic compounds, poses a major challenge for sustainable environmental management. Improper management of this waste can lead to contamination of water, soil, and air, threatening human health and ecosystems (Bagaskara, 2023; Supraptini, 2002). This study investigates the potential of bioremediation using microbes for industrial waste management and identifies factors influencing its effectiveness. Conducted as an experimental laboratory study, the research tests various microorganisms known for their bioremediation capabilities, such as Pseudomonas, Bacillus, and Aspergillus.Analysis of contaminated soil revealed lead (Pb) levels at 63.1 mg/kg, exceeding the livestock toxic limit of 10–30 mg/kg. The growth index (GI) for the inoculum treatment increased by 84.3% to 136.7% over a sixty-day incubation period, while the control treatment showed minimal changes (88.8% to 111.7%). These findings indicate that optimal incubation conditions and appropriate microbial selection can enhance soil quality, making it safer for plant growth and less harmful to the environment. Expanding bioremediation practices could significantly mitigate the adverse effects of industrial waste on environmental pollution. Overall, this research highlights the viability of microbial bioremediation as an effective strategy for managing industrial waste and improving ecological health.
