Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of ISO 31000–based risk management at Bengkel Mentari Motor, an independent workshop in Bandung that has grown alongside increasing motorcycle ownership. Despite its business potential, the workshop’s risk management remains reactive and lacks a formal standard. A descriptive approach was used to identify risk types, assess risk levels, and determine appropriate mitigation strategies. The risks examined include operational, occupational safety, financial, equipment, service quality, and technological changes. The results show that several risks have high likelihood and impact, particularly those related to equipment condition, worker competence, and compliance with safety procedures. Based on the risk matrix, most risks fall into medium to high categories, requiring immediate control actions. The ISO 31000 framework provides a structured basis for identifying, analyzing, evaluating, and treating risks. The study recommends developing risk-based SOPs, enhancing mechanic training, implementing regular equipment maintenance, and establishing risk documentation to improve operational efficiency and business sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and design a risk management strategy for My Wash Steam Motor and Mobil Salju by using the ISO 31000:2018 framework. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and document review to identify risks that affect service quality. Based on the findings, a total of 31 risks were identified, consisting of operational, customer-related, human resource, environmental, financial, competitive, and regulatory risks. These risks were analyzed using likelihood and impact assessments, arranged in a risk-level matrix to determine handling priorities, and accompanied by mitigation strategies relevant to the business conditions. The results indicate that several risks fall into the high–priority category, including vehicle damage, service quality complaints, long queues, unstable daily revenue, and competitive pressure from similar businesses. The proposed mitigation strategies include developing standard operating procedures (SOP), employee training, improving queue management, enhancing service quality, strengthening financial recording, implementing simple waste management, and increasing business differentiation. Overall, implementing risk management based on ISO 31000:2018 supports My Wash in improving service quality, minimizing potential losses, and strengthening business competitiveness..

Abstract

This study aims to identify, analyze, evaluate, and formulate risk treatments at Toko Berkah Bandung, a local retail MSME, using the ISO 31000 risk management framework. A descriptive qualitative case study was applied, utilizing observations, interviews, and business documentation. The findings reveal 40 risk events categorized into market, marketing, financial, operational, human resources, and legal risks. Risk evaluation indicates that most risks fall within moderate to high levels, while several are classified as extreme, including unstable cash flow, inaccurate inventory records, rising supplier prices, and digital reputation issues. Through ISO 31000, appropriate risk treatment strategies—such as risk reduction, avoidance, transfer, and acceptance—can be prioritized and implemented. The study highlights the necessity of operational digitalization, employee competency development, stronger financial governance, and regulatory compliance to enhance business resilience and sustainability.
