Abstract

This study aims to describe the need assessment of psychological adjustment among female inmates at the Women’s Penitentiary in “X” Regency. The research background highlights the psychological vulnerability of female inmates who often experience emotional distress due to loss of freedom, limited social interaction, and negative societal stigma. This study used is descriptive qualitative with data sources in the form of needs assessment results, interviews, and field observations. The analysis revealed that 70% of inmates experienced stress due to a new and restrictive environment, 80% felt pressured by social stigma, and 70% were anxious about being rejected by society after release. These findings indicate a high level for strengthening psychological adjustment, particularly in managing stress, developing self-acceptance, and enhancing social support. The study underscores the importance of establishing community-based counseling services to promote psychological well-being and facilitate social reintegration for female inmates. This study provides context-specific evidence for designing community-based counseling interventions in female correctional institutions, which has received limited empirical attention in Indonesia.

Abstract

Students at MAN Kepulauan Selayar face serious challenges in making career decisions due to a lack of understanding of careers according to their personality types. This development research aims to produce RIASEC Quartet media as a career guidance to improve students' career orientation based on John Holland's personality theory. Using DDR with ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) design model, data were collected from 64 students using a validated IPKS questionnaire, needs analysis instruments, expert assessment instruments, and small group test instruments. The main product innovation lies in the integration of the traditional quartet card game with QR code technology, which serves as a gateway to a broader digital career information system on Google Sites. The results of the study showed that this media was "Very Valid" with a score of 91.67% from material experts and 97.92% from media experts. Furthermore, the assessment of expert practitioners (Counseling Teacher) and small group tests showed a high practical level of 89%, indicating that this media is effective and interesting to use in the classroom. This study emphasizes that the integration of digital technology into game-based counseling media can overcome the physical limitations of traditional media, as well as provide a more interactive and comprehensive career exploration experience for high school students

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for the development of RIASEC quartet media as a career guidance media in improving career understanding according to the personality of class X and XII students at MAN Kepulauan Selayar. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through in-depth interviews with counseling teachers. The results of the interview show that most students at MAN Kepulauan Selayar, especially classes X and XI have never received career guidance and personality tests that have not been evenly distributed. This means that career preparation is not optimal. In addition, the BK teacher argued that guidance and counseling services at school are still conventional with the lecture method and have not been supported by innovative media in helping students improve career understanding according to their personality. RIASEC quartet media is considered relevant because it displays the types of professions and their characteristics based on personality types that are easy to understand. This research shows that the development of RIASEC quartet media is important as an innovation in career guidance services to increase career understanding according to the personality of students.
