Abstract

In the era of massive digital transformation, organizations across various sectors face significant challenges in managing increasingly complex and growing volumes of data. Metadata, as descriptive information about data, plays a central role in ensuring that data can be found, understood, and reused appropriately. Metadata management not only assists in managing digital archives but also serves as the foundation for effective and efficient data governance. This study aims to explore metadata management practices in five modern organizations from the government, private sector, and nongovernmental organizations. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews, system observations, and documentation studies, this study identifies the extent of metadata understanding, implementation, and challenges in real-world work environments. The results indicate that most organizations still face gaps in standardization, system interoperability, and human resource digital literacy. This study also suggests the need for a national metadata strategy and ongoing training to encourage optimal metadata utilization across all organizational levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze potato marketing strategies to increase farmers’ income in Ndeskati Village, Naman Teran District, Karo Regency. The study was conducted as part of the Community Service Program (KKN) organized by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN Sumatera Utara. The research focuses on potato marketing conditions, strategies used by farmers to market their agricultural products, and efforts that can be implemented to increase farmers’ income. A descriptive approach was employed by collecting information on marketing processes, farmers’ conditions, and potato sales activities at the research location. The results indicate that appropriate marketing strategies are needed to overcome limited market access and increase the selling value of agricultural products. Marketing strategies can be strengthened through expanding marketing networks, improving product quality, utilizing digital media, and developing direct relationships with consumers and business actors. Through more effective strategies, farmers are expected to expand market access, improve competitiveness, reduce dependence on intermediaries, and obtain better selling prices. Ultimately, optimal marketing strategies can support sustainable increases in the income and welfare of potato farmers.
