Abstract

Learning difficulty is the inability of a student to master a subject matter optimally in a predetermined time due to several factors that influence it. The aims of this study were: 1) to describe the description of student learning outcomes in Geography class X IIS 1 Senior High School 1 Watopute; 2) to analyze what material is difficult for students to understand in the subject of Geography for class X IIS 1 Senior High School 1 Watopute, and; 3) to describe the factors that cause learning difficulties in the subject of Geography class X IIS 1 Senior High School 1 Watopute. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results of the study showed that: 1) student learning outcomes, namely some students in class X IIS 1 did not reach the minimum completeness criteria in Geography; 2) The material that is difficult for students to understand in the subject of Geography for class X IIS 1 students is the material on the Characteristics of the Layers of the Earth's Atmosphere; and 3) factors that cause geography learning difficulties, namely internal factors (student interest and student motivation) and external factors (parents' work, parental income, student learning needs, the presentation of material by the teacher is less attractive, the use of monotonous learning methods, the use of less than optimal learning media, and limited school facilities and infrastructure).

Abstract

The territory of Indonesia has 0.08% of the land area of the karst landscape. This has the potential to improve people's welfare. This study aims to: 1) describe the condition of limestone in Oengkolaki Village; and 2) describe the community's perception of the limestone mining of Oengkolaki Village. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that: 1) limestone mining has been carried out several years ago where mining activities can help the community's economy and can create jobs that can improve people's welfare directly by the people around the mining area; and 2) the community's perception of limestone mining gave a positive response which could be seen from the majority of community responses stating that this limestone mining activity affected the activities of the Oengkolaki Village community.

Abstract

Based on the results of observations, the motivation of students in class XI IPS1 and IPS2 Senior High School 1 Kabangka is still relatively minimal, where there are still many students who do not care and do not understand the material in Geography subject. The purpose of this research is to find out the relationship between learning motivation and geography learning outcomes for class XI SMA Negeri 1 Kabangka. The sample in this study were 30 people selected using simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The correlation technique used is product moment. The results of the study showed that there was a strong relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes in geography for class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Kabangka. The correlation value between the correlation value of variable X and variable Y is 0.84 and the value of "r'' product moment at a significant level of 5% is 2,048, indicating that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted

Abstract

Along with the development of technology, the use of social media is also increasingly intense, however, the rapid development of technology among students cannot be separated from the positive and negative impacts it has. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the use of Facebook social media on student learning outcomes in Geography class XI IPS Senior High School 2 Wangi-Wangi. Simple linear regression analysis was used in this study to explain the relationship between Facebook social media use and learning outcomes. The results showed that the t-test value = -0.666 < t table and the coefficient of determination r2 = 0.018, which means that the contribution of the influence of the use of social media Facebook on learning outcomes is 0.18% and 0.82% is influenced by other factors. The statistical results show that there is no significant effect of the use of Facebook social media on student learning outcomes in Geography class XI IPS at Senior High School 2 Wangi-Wangi.

Abstract

Early marriage can affect health, education, and psychology. Gunung Jati Village is one of the areas in Kendari City which is experiencing an increasing trend of early marriage. This study aimed to 1) find out the factors that cause young marriages in Gunung Jati Village, Kendari City; and 2) know the impact of young marriage on the socio-economic families in Gunung Jati Village, Kendari City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data was obtained using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification. The results of the study show that: 1) the factors that cause young marriages in Gunung Jati Village, Kendari City are economic factors and married by accident; and 2) young marriage has an impact on the socio-economic families in the Gunung Jati Village, Kendari City, namely the difficulty of getting a steady job with a large income due to low education.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia faces formidable challenges. The demand to develop human resources through education absolutely must be carried out with the hope of creating superior human beings, one of which is by understanding student learning styles. The purpose of this study is to find out the description of learning outcomes in Geography based on the learning styles of class XI students at SMA Negeri 1 Wangi-Wangi, Wakatobi Regency. This type of research applied is descriptive quantitative. The population of this study was 93 respondents taken from class XI IPS. The results showed that there were 46 students with a visual learning style and 47 students with an auditory learning style. The description of student learning outcomes shows that the visual learning style has a higher average value (dominant) than students with an auditory learning style.

Abstract

The implementation of the online learning system during the Covid-19 pandemic caused many problems in its implementation. This study aims to find out the problems experienced by teachers and students in implementing online Geography lessons during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method uses quantitative methods. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires and documentation described in descriptive statistics. The results showed that teachers experienced problems both from unstable internet networks, lack of internet quota availability, or lack of mastery of applications used in online learning, student indiscipline, lack of student motivation to take part in online learning and the teacher gave grades objectively according to students' abilities. Meanwhile, students experienced problems in mastering online learning support applications and the discipline of collecting assignments and obtaining grades with a percentage of 52%, 42.3%, and 52.5%, respectively

Abstract

Senior High School 11 Kendari is one of the schools in Wua Wua District, Kendari City that has low Geography learning outcomes. The ineffective learning model makes students' interest in learning decrease. This study aims to: 1) determine the description of Geography learning outcomes based on learning styles; 2) determine the effect of Inquiry learning models and learning styles on Geography learning outcomes on Natural Disaster Mitigation material for grade XI IPS students of SMA Negeri 11 Kendari. The type of research used is experimental research. The population of the study was 73 students, with a research sample of 27 students. The research data in the form of quantitative data was obtained from tests and questionnaires. The results of the study showed: 1) the average value of learning outcomes were pre-test 41.19 and post-test 86.67; and the average value of learning outcomes based on students' learning styles, kinesthetic pre-test 35.13, visual pre-test 50.27, and auditory pre-test 34.75; and kinesthetic post-test 86.88; visual post-test 89.45; and auditory post-test 82.25; 2) the results of hypothesis testing using one way ANOVA with probability value Sig. = 0.00>0.05 then ho is rejected and ha is accepted. Thus there is an influence of Inquiry learning model and learning style on Geography learning outcomes

Abstract

Weaving is one of the high cultural heritages that is proud of the Indonesian nation and reflects national identity and typical Buton woven cloth is no exception. This research aims to describe the existence of weaving traditions and their implications for the Buton community in Sulaa Village, Baubau City. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction techniques, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of this research show that the existence of the weaving tradition of the Sulaa people has existed since ancient times as proven by the existence of historical heritage in the form of (Kampua), namely currency made from woven cloth. The existence of the weaving tradition in Sulaa Village from the past until now has had an impact on the economy and education of the community. These implications encourage the community and local government to continue to preserve it.

Abstract

One of the problems at Senior High School 4 Bombana is that student learning outcomes do not reach the minimum completeness criteria. The use of conventional methods and media makes students passive, besides that learning is only teacher-centered. The aims of this research are: 1) to describe an overview of students' Geography learning activities; 2) to describe the description of the teacher's teaching activities; and 3) to describe an overview of the improvement in learning outcomes of class XI IPS 1 students at Senior High School 4 Bombana who were taught using the Problem-Based Learning model on Natural Disaster Mitigation material. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with research subjects consisting of teachers and students of class XI IPS 1. Based on data analysis, the conclusions obtained are: 1) student learning activity in cycle I was 2.4 and cycle II increased to 3.6;2) teacher teaching activity in cycle I was 2.9, increasing to 3.7; and 3) student learning outcomes in cycle I were 65% (17/26 students completed) in cycle II increased to 92% (24/26 students completed).
