Abstract

The purpose of this article is to comprehensively examine the integration of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and digital technology within the context of 21st-century inclusive education through a narrative literature review. This study employs a narrative literature review method with a qualitative and exploratory approach. The data sources consist of 15 international journal articles published between 2023 and 2025. The research instrument is a manually developed data extraction sheet used to gather information from each article. Data analysis utilizes qualitative thematic analysis with a deductive approach, referencing the UDL theoretical framework. The results of this study: (1) Teachers' knowledge and attitudes towards inclusion remain limited and inconsistent; (2) Structural and policy limitations hinder the implementation of inclusive education; (3) The role of digital technology in supporting the application of UDL to create flexible and adaptive learning; and (4) Issues of access and social justice in higher education, particularly for vulnerable groups such as refugees and individuals with disabilities. This study implies that 21st-century inclusive education cannot be separated from digital transformation and flexible learning design paradigms such as UDL. Technology is positioned not just as an assistive tool but as a structural foundation for designing learning that is responsive to diversity. Approaches based on quality of life, cultural intelligence, and recognition of the socio-political context of learners are key elements in the development of a substantively inclusive educational system.

Abstract

This study aims to map trends, thematic evolution, and gaps in the scientific literature concerning online learning evaluation, specifically the utilization of gamified platforms such as Kahoot. This systematic review employs a quantitative bibliometric approach, analyzing articles from the Google Scholar database for the period 2018–2022. The analysis was conducted using the Publish or Perish application for data collection and VOSviewer for network, overlay, and density visualization to identify citation patterns and conceptual clusters. The results indicate a significant surge in publications in 2021, driven by the need for emergency evaluation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The discussion reveals that the literature tends to focus on pragmatic aspects and tool adoption, with limited conceptual linkages to deeper theoretical constructs such as assessment as learning and self-regulation. The key finding highlights the need to shift from "how-to" facilitation-focused research toward exploring how technology can transform assessment practices to support deeper learning. The implication is that future research should investigate intentionally designed, pedagogically sound online evaluations that leverage the unique affordances of digital and game-based tools to foster 21st-century competencies, as well as examine their long-term impact and causal pathways beyond the crisis context.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the implementation of daily performance monitoring in improving Adab education at Azmania Islamic Boarding School in Ponorogo. The research design used in this study is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis techniques use data analysis and Miles and Huberman's model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research findings show that the role of daily performance monitoring in implementing Adab education is crucial. It helps teachers to monitor, evaluate, and make policies to improve the Adab education system. Furthermore, the Adab education at Azmania Islamic Boarding School has improved over time, from initially not understanding daily Adab to being able to implement it well. The implementation is carried out through three stages of the method, namely exemplary behavior, habituation, and knowledge insight.
