Abstract

Bullying can have serious consequences for a child's mental and social development and can even lead to legal violations. Unfortunately, elementary school students' understanding of the legal aspects of bullying is still minimal. This activity aims to promote an early understanding of the legal aspects of bullying among students, teachers, and parents at SD Negeri 1 Dongko Village. The activity methods include interactive legal counseling, case simulations, and group discussions designed to provide a practical understanding of the legal consequences of bullying. The activity results indicate an increase in students' legal awareness of bullying, teachers' and parents' concern for creating a safe learning environment, and an emerging school commitment to preventing and handling bullying based on justice and child protection principles. Thus, this community service activity contributes to building a more child-friendly school culture, oriented towards preventing violence, and supporting students' healthy and dignified growth and development.

Abstract

Bunobogu Village is located in Buol Regency and represents a transitional area from rural to urban settings. This transformation is influenced by improved internet access and the introduction of external lifestyles and cultures brought by community members returning from migration. These changes make Bunobogu Village vulnerable to negative cultural influences, particularly drug abuse and promiscuous behavior. The majority of the population consists of young people, especially adolescents and young adults, who are the most vulnerable group to drug abuse and free association. Furthermore, most residents have a lower–middle economic status, which increases the risk of adolescents engaging in drug abuse and promiscuity as a means of coping with economic and social pressures. As a preventive effort, students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) of Madako University conducted community service activities focused on the education sector, specifically at SMA Negeri 1 Bunobogu. The program was centered on socialization regarding drug abuse and the dangers of promiscuous behavior using an educational approach through material presentations, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The results of this community service activity indicate an improvement in students’ understanding and awareness of the negative impacts of drug abuse and promiscuous behavior, as well as the importance of maintaining healthy and ethical conduct. This program is expected to serve as an initial step in fostering a knowledgeable, responsible, and resilient young generation capable of facing social challenges in the modern era.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a serious threat to the younger generation, particularly students, because it has negative impacts on their health, psychology, academic achievement, and future; therefore, early prevention efforts in schools are a strategic step to protect students from such influences. This activity aimed to improve students’ understanding, awareness, and skills in rejecting drug abuse. The implementation method used an educational- participatory approach involving students of Pondok Pesantren Al-Ittihad DDI Soni in  grades 10–12. The stages of the activity included interactive lectures, group discussions, role-play simulations, educational games, as well as evaluation and reflection. The results showed a significant increase in students’ knowledge of the types of drugs and their impacts, their courage to resist negative influences, and the growth of empathy and solidarity among peers. These findings demonstrate that the educational-participatory approach is effective in fostering critical awareness, social skills, and anti-drug attitudes among students. Academically, this activity contributes as an empirical model of school- based drug abuse prevention, while practically it can serve as a reference for other schools to develop similar sustainable programs.
