Abstract

The implementation of IT-based learning media has recently had a positive impact on the learning process of students, particularly in Arabic language lessons, so that IT-based learning media can now be found in almost all educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools. This study examines the implementation of IT-based audio-visual learning media in enhancing Mahārah al-Istimā’ among students at PMDG Campus 11 Ittihadul Ummah Poso. With theacher from the Language Advisory Council (LAC) as the primary data source and PMDG students at Campus 11 Ittihadul Ummah Poso as the secondary data source, this study employs a qualitative descriptive field research methodology. Data collection was conducted through documentation, interviews, and observations. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of IT-based audio-visual learning media in improving Mahārah al-Istimā’ among PMDG students at Campus 11 Ittihadul Ummah Poso. The implementation was carried out during weekly activities every Friday morning, consisting of three stages: the introductory stage, the core stage, and the evaluation stage. Regarding the impact of the implementation of audio-visual media, the students were able to understand vocabulary, comprehend sentences, understand a text, and provide responses to the text.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kemampuan berbahasa Arab merupakan kompetensi penting dalam Musabaqah Fahmil Qur’an (MFQ) yang menuntut peserta memahami dan merespons soal berbasis teks Arab secara cepat, tepat, dan efisien. Kegiatan pendampingan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi Bahasa Arab calon peserta MFQ Tingkat Kota Palu melalui program pendampingan yang terarah dan kontekstual. Pendampingan dilaksanakan pada 27–28 Oktober 2025 di Kantor Kementerian Agama Kota Palu dengan melibatkan 48 peserta dari delapan kafilah. Kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan service learning melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, refleksi, dan evaluasi. Metode yang diterapkan meliputi ceramah, diskusi, latihan, dan tanya jawab dengan fokus pada penguatan kosakata, pemahaman teks, dan kaidah kebahasaan sesuai karakteristik soal MFQ. Efektivitas kegiatan dievaluasi melalui perbandingan hasil pre-test dan post-test, yang masing-masing memuat 20 butir soal berbahasa Arab, melalui analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi Bahasa Arab peserta dari nilai rata-rata skor pre-test sebesar 79.03 meningkat menjadi 87.92 pada skor post-test, sehingga pendampingan ini terbukti efektif dan berpotensi menjadi model pembinaan MFQ yang berkelanjutan.Abstract: Proficiency in the Arabic language is a crucial skill for the Musabaqah Fahmil Qur'an (MFQ), a competition that requires participants to quickly and accurately understand and respond to Arabic text-based questions. This community service program seeks to improve Arabic language abilities of prospective MFQ participants in Palu City through targeted, contextual mentoring. Mentoring took place on October 27-28, 2025, at the Palu City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office and involved 48 participants from eight groups. The activity employed a service-learning approach involving the stages of needs analysis, planning, implementation, reflection, and evaluation. Methods included lectures, discussions, exercises, and question-and-answer sessions, focusing on strengthening vocabulary, text comprehension, and linguistic rules, in line with the characteristics of MFQ questions. A pre-test and a post-test, consist of 20 questions for each test, analyzed with quantitative descriptive methods, were used to find out the activity's effectiveness. The results demonstrate an increase in Arabic language proficiency among participants, as evidenced by an average pre-test score of 79.03 and a post-test score of 87.92, indicating the program's effectiveness and potential as a sustainable MFQ training model.
