Abstract

Introduction: The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of dental health education on the dental care behavior of fifth-grade students at Anak Saleh Elementary School, Malang City. Methods: The research used in this research is Quasi-Experimental Design, with a Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 54 respondents from fifth-grade elementary school students. The data analysis technique uses the paired sample t-test. Results: The research results showed that the majority of respondents had dental care behavior in the adequate category, 29 respondents or 53.7% before dental health education. The majority of respondents had dental care behavior in the good category, with 34 respondents or 63.0% after dental health education. The influence of education about dental health on dental care behavior in fifth-grade elementary school children at Saleh Children's Elementary School, Malang City with a Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Discussion: Dental health education in elementary schools is made a routine agenda every year.

Abstract

Male patients undergoing prolonged hemodialysis can experience a decrease in reproductive system function, leading to sexual dysfunction. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between the length of time undergoing hemodialysis and the fulfillment of sexual needs in chronic kidney failure patients in the Malahayati Room of dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang. The research design uses non-experimental correlational research with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were all male chronic kidney failure sufferers who underwent hemodialysis in the Malahayati Hemodialysis Room of dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang. As of June 2023, there were 71 people. The samples in this study were all male CKD patients of productive age (15–64) taken using the purposeful sampling method. Data collection uses a questionnaire. The results of the study showed that almost half of the respondents with CKD underwent hemodialysis in the Malahayati Room of dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang for > 24 months, namely 41.80%, and as many as 50.90% of respondents who underwent hemodialysis had their sexual needs still fulfilled. The results of Chi Square test showed there was a relationship between the length of time undergoing hemodialysis and the fulfillment of sexual needs in male CKD patients in the Malahayati Room of dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital, Malang (p value 0,00). It is hoped that hospitals can provide services that support the understanding of CKD sufferers, such as providing appropriate health education to patients so that they understand the changes that will occur in their health.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer is a malignancy with high morbidity and mortality rates, requiring chemotherapy as a major treatment modality. The effectiveness of chemotherapy is strongly influenced by patient adherence, which remains a major challenge due to physical, psychological, and social burdens. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and chemotherapy adherence among colorectal cancer patients. This study employed a quantitative analytic correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples was 56 respondents. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The findings showed that most respondents received good family support (55.4%) and were adherent to chemotherapy (71.4%). The Chi-Square test revealed a value of χ² = 21.897 with a significance of p < 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between family support and chemotherapy adherence in colorectal cancer patients. Family support plays an essential role in improving adherence of colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at the digestive surgery clinic of Dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital. The better the family support, the higher the adherence level. The findings demonstrate that family support is a significant determinant of chemotherapy adherence among colorectal cancer patients. Adequate family support may help patients overcome physical discomfort, psychological distress, and treatment-related challenges, thereby promoting consistent adherence to chemotherapy schedules. These results underscore the need for healthcare professionals to integrate family involvement into patient care strategies, as strengthening family support systems may represent an effective approach to improving adherence and enhancing treatment success in colorectal cancer management.

Abstract

Kepuasan pasien menjadi kunci utama dalam sektor pelayanan kesehatan, yang dapat dicapai melalui inovasi dan kualitas layanan yang optimal dari Rumah Sakit. Kepuasan pasien merupakan suatu tingkat perasaan yang timbul, yang disebabkan oleh pelayanan kesehatan yang didapat seorang pasien setelah membandingkan dengan apa yang diharapkannya. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kepuasan pasien adalah komunikasi terapeutik yang merupakan interaksi antara pengirim dan penerima pesan berfokus pada pemulihan kesehatan pasien. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling dengan sampel sejumlah 56 responden perawat IGD.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Hubungan antara komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan kepuasan pasien di Instalasi Gawat Darurat RSU BRIMEDIKA. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebagian besar dengan jenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 34 responden (60.7%), sebagian besar responden berusia ≥ 30 Tahun sebanyak 35 responden (62.5%), sebagian besar responden berpendidikan DIII sebanyak 24 responden (25%). Dari hasil uji statistik bivariat Spearman sebesar 0.001 < 0,005 maka dapat diartikan bahwa terdapat hubungan bermakna antara komunikasi terapeutik perawat dengan kepuasan pasien di IGD RSU Brimedika Malang. Nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,312 yang berarti bahwa hubungan antar variable berada pada kategori hubungan cukup Pasien yang merasa terlayani dengan baik salah satunya dengan komunikasi terapeutik dan menjadi hal yang penting dalam penyelenggaraan layanan kesehatan oleh karena itu RS perlu meningkatkan perhatian akan kebutuhan pasien dengan cara membangun komunikasi terapeutik yang baik antara perawat dan pasien.
