Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perspectives of Generation Z at the undergraduate level regarding the process of drafting the Indonesian military law from a democratic point of view. Using a qualitative field research approach, primary data was collected through in-depth interviews. Secondary data was obtained from official documents and academic literature. The data was analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, supported by source triangulation for validation. The findings show that students view the legislative process as lacking transparency, public participation, and accountability, contrary to the principles of substantive democracy. Controversial provisions were found to open up opportunities for militaristic practices and weaken democratic control. This study highlights the critical awareness of Generation Z, which functions as a social watchdog, reflecting their role as moral guardians and agents of democracy. Through discussions, demonstrations, judicial reviews, and policy dialogues, students fight for transparent governance and the strengthening of civilian supremacy. This research emphasizes the urgency of inclusive participation in the legislative process to maintain the integrity of democracy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengaitkan pendidikan nilai dengan pendidikan kewarganegaraan. Ketika keduanya disatukan dalam studi literatur ini, akan dihasilkan konteks dari pendidikan kewarganegaraan yang mencakup: (1) mempertahankan dan memajukan nilai-nilai moral Pancasila, (2) membimbing siswa menjadi warga negara Indonesia yang paham tentang politik dan hukum berlandaskan Pancasila, dan (3) melaksanakan hak dan kewajiban sebagai anggota masyarakat negara. Konteks pendidikan nilai adalah nilai-nilai yang terkait dengan tanggung jawab, nurani, yang bersifat mengikat, dan formal dengan ciri-ciri seperti: (a) nilai yang berkaitan dengan subjek, (b) nilai yang muncul dalam konteks praktis, dan (c) nilai-nilai yang menyangkut sifat-sifat tambahan yang diberikan oleh objek pada sifat-sifat yang dimilikinya. Pendidikan kewarganegaraan sebagai pendidikan nilai dapat diwujudkan melalui beberapa pendekatan, termasuk evokasi yang menekankan inisiatif peserta didik untuk mengekspresikan diri secara spontan, inkulasi atau penanaman nilai, pendekatan kesadaran, penalaran moral, pengungkapan nilai, pendekatan komitmen, pendekatan penyatuan (union approach), pendekatan pemodelan teladan, dan pendidikan berdasarkan karakter (character-based education). Abstract

Parenting knowledge is a fundamental foundation that parents must master as the main provision for shaping children's character. Currently, cultural shifts, civilizational transformations, and technological disruptions have significantly impacted interaction and parenting patterns. However, not all parents comprehend the detrimental effects of technological exposure on child development. The emergence of various issues related to child and adolescent delinquency has become an alarming threat to parents. Consequently, this community service program aims to provide parenting education to address contemporary challenges and alleviate parental anxiety. This activity specifically targets a group of 30 mothers residing in Krajan Hamlet, Ngadirojo Village, Sooko District. The program was implemented using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, encompassing four primary stages: discovery, design, define, and reflection. Through this educational initiative, it is anticipated that parents' understanding of parenting styles relevant to the digital era will improve. Furthermore, the program endeavors to cultivate a parental mindset emphasizing the importance of active involvement in monitoring, guiding, and listening to their children's aspirations.
