Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of Muhammadiyah ideology in education governance and policy through organizational decisions, handling of Five Issues, and the practice of Muhammadiyah Khittah as a guideline for the movement. The ideology of Muhammadiyah not only functions as a system of theological ideas, but also as a normative and operational foundation that directs the implementation of Islamic education to progress. The approach of this research is qualitative descriptive with the method of literature study on official documents of Muhammadiyah, such as the Muhammadiyah Faith and Ideals of Life (MKCH), Muqaddimah of the Muhammadiyah Articles of Association (MADM), Khittah Muhammadiyah, as well as the decisions of the Congress related to the direction of organizational policies and educational development. The results of the study show that the ideology of Muhammadiyah is implemented applicatively in educational governance through organizational policies oriented towards the integration of faith, science, and charity. The Five Religions, Education, Economy, Politics, and Culture Issues function as a strategic framework in the development of Muhammadiyah education, while Khittah Muhammadiyah acts as a moral compass that keeps the implementation of education within the corridor of da'wah amar makruf nahi mungkar and independent of pragmatic interests.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the configuration of religious authority of Habib and Gus in contemporary Islamic education within the digital sphere, examining how nasab, pesantren scholarship, and charisma are constructed, reproduced, and contested on social media. The research employs a qualitative approach with an interpretative case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with Habib, Gus, santri, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and digital congregants; participatory observation of online da'wah activities and documentation study of social media content and digital da'wah archives. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Matthew B. Miles, A. Michael Huberman, and Johnny SaldaƱa, grounded in the theoretical framework of authority proposed by Max Weber and the theory of symbolic capital developed by Pierre Bourdieu. The findings indicate that the authority of Habib on social media is primarily constructed through nasab as symbolic capital, which gains legitimacy through collective recognition and digital representation. In contrast, the authority of Gus is more dominantly grounded in scholarship and pesantren based sanad, representing the continuity of Islamic intellectual tradition. Furthermore, the study identifies the emergence of digital charisma, formed through communicative performativity, emotional interaction, and technological mediation, thereby reinforcing audience loyalty within virtual communities. Social media functions as a new religious arena that both expands and intensifies symbolic contestation between genealogical legitimacy and scholarly legitimacy.

Abstract

This study aims to identify, analyze, and synthesize empirical findings concerning the influence of gadget use on the moral development of children and adolescents, based on reputable Scopus-indexed studies published within the past decade. The method employed is a systematic literature review utilizing the PRISMA approach, encompassing the selection of relevant empirical studies quantitative, qualitative, and longitudinal that examine variables related to gadget use, psychological processes such as empathy, self-regulation, and moral disengagement, as well as prosocial and antisocial behaviors. The results of the synthesis indicate that the impact of gadget use is neither direct nor linear; rather, it is moderated by factors such as duration of use, type of content consumed, digital literacy, parenting style, and the broader social environment. Moderate use accompanied by dialogic parental mediation has the potential to strengthen digital ethical literacy and promote prosocial behavior. Conversely, excessive use without supervision and exposure to negative content are associated with decreased empathy, heightened moral disengagement, and a greater propensity toward antisocial behavior.
