Abstract

This study aims to develop a differentiated teaching module based on students' learning styles in the Project-Based Learning of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) to improve collaboration skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes five phases: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of the study were Grade X students at SMK Negeri 1 Parigi, with 19 students from the Akuntansi dan Keuangan Lembaga (AKL) program as the experimental class and 19 students from the Desain Pemodelan dan Informasi Bangunan (DPIB) program as the control class. Research instruments included expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, cognitive assessment tests (pretest and posttest), and observation sheets for collaboration skills. Validation results showed that the module achieved a validity level of 83%, categorized as valid. The module’s practicality was rated at 92% by teachers and 95% by students, both classified as highly practical. Regarding effectiveness, a comparison of posttest scores between the experimental and control groups yielded a Cohen’s d of 0.93, indicating a large effect on students’ cognitive outcomes. Additionally, within the experimental group, a comparison of pretest and posttest collaboration scores resulted in a Cohen’s d of 0.89, also classified as a large effect. These findings demonstrate that the differentiated teaching module effectively enhances students’ 21st-century skills, particularly collaboration.

Abstract

Biodiversity is very high, both in flora and fauna, and this abundance should be utilized for community needs. One of the biological potentials is the natural resource of flora, including ferns (Pteridophyta). This study aims to describe the abundance of fern species (Pteridophyta) found in the plantations of Sipeso Village, Sindue Tobata District, and to use the results as an educational medium in the form of a flipbook suitable for use. This type of research is descriptive quantitative, with the research location determined through purposive sampling, selecting two observation stations. Sampling was conducted using line transects with a plot method, with a research area of 5000 m², where each station covers 2500 m². In each station, a 50-meter line transect was placed, and plots of 10m x 10m were systematically arranged using a zig-zag method. Samples within the plots were then collected. The results showed that 12 species of ferns were found, which belong to the class Polypodiopsida, including 2 orders and 8 families. Based on their habitat, 8 species of terrestrial ferns and 4 species of epiphytic ferns were identified. The abundance of fern species (Pteridophyta) in the Sipeso Village plantations is classified as low with an abundance value of R1 = 1.76. The percentage of the educational media’s suitability is 83.25%, indicating that the flipbook as an educational medium is highly suitable for use.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors of learning difficulties in science subjects at SMP Negeri 19 Palu. This research used a qualitative research method. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire on factors of student learning difficulties. The results show that internal factors affected 36% of students who did not experience difficulties and 64% of students who experienced learning difficulties. Meanwhile, external factors affected 46% of students who did not experience learning difficulties and 54% of students who experienced learning difficulties. It can be concluded that there are factors of learning difficulties in science subjects at SMP Negeri 19 Palu.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the types of ornamental plants in the yard of the Ujumbou Village community and produce learning media that are suitable for use. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using exploration method with free sampling technique. The results of the study obtained 76 types of ornamental plants from 37 families and 56 genus found in Ujumbou Village. Assessment of learning media in the form of pocket books conducted by each expert lecturer obtained a score of 82.85% material experts, 97.5% design experts, 69.23% media experts, and 92.25% student trials. The average percentage obtained was 85.45%. These results indicate that the pocket book that has been made is very feasible to use as learning media.
