Abstract

Teacher welfare is a major concern in improving the quality of Islamic education. Low welfare, both financially and non-financially, negatively impacts teacher motivation and performance in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the impact of teacher salary realization on the quality of Islamic education. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature review, reviewing more than 20 academic sources, including scientific journals, books, and related policy documents. The results indicate that teacher salaries, as a form of compensation, play a crucial role in shaping teacher welfare and professionalism. In the Islamic context, the salary system is governed by the ijarah principle, which emphasizes fairness and equity. This study concludes that effective, equitable, and sustainable financial management is essential to ensure teacher welfare and improve the overall quality of Islamic education.

Abstract

Integrating the Arabic language curriculum between traditional and modern pesantren has become an essential discourse in responding to contemporary educational demands. Traditional pesantren emphasize mastery of Arabic through classical texts (kitab kuning) with the sorogan and bandongan methods, while modern pesantren apply structured curricula, linguistic competence, and communicative approaches. This conceptual article aims to present a theoretical exploration of integration patterns, philosophical foundations, and potential models that can harmonize these two curriculum orientations. The discussion shows that integration can be achieved through curriculum synthesis, combining classical literacy with communicative Arabic, strengthening teacher competence, and designing learning models that balance tradition and modernity. The study contributes theoretically to the development of a holistic Arabic language curriculum in pesantren.

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan memetakan perkembangan ilmu al-Ma‘ājim (leksikografi Arab) dari masa klasik hingga era digital, sebagai upaya memahami transformasi metodologis dan epistemologis dalam penyusunan kamus Arab selama lebih dari satu milenium. Ruang lingkup pembahasan mencakup lima periode utama: periode al-Khalīl ibn Aḥmad dengan Kitāb al-‘Ayn sebagai fondasi pertama leksikografi berbasis makhārij al-ḥurūf; periode Ibn Fāris dan Ibn Sīdah yang menegaskan pendekatan etimologis dan sistematis dalam penelusuran akar kata; periode Ibn Manẓūr sebagai representasi kematangan kamus ensiklopedik lewat Lisān al-‘Arab; periode kamus modern seperti al-Mu‘jam al-Wasīṭ dan al-Mu‘jam al-‘Arabī al-Asāsī yang membawa reformasi pedagogis dan standardisasi bahasa; serta perkembangan kamus elektronik yang menandai digitalisasi ilmu leksikografi dalam bentuk aplikasi, basis data daring, dan corpus linguistics. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka melalui analisis kritis terhadap literatur klasik dan modern mengenai sejarah, metode penyusunan, serta karakteristik masing-masing periode. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa ilmu al-Ma‘ājim berkembang secara bertahap dari pendekatan fonetik, etimologis, semantik, pedagogis, hingga komputasional. Kesimpulannya, perkembangan ini mencerminkan dinamika keilmuan bahasa Arab yang terus menyesuaikan diri dengan kebutuhan akademik dan teknologi, sekaligus mempertahankan kedalaman tradisi keilmuan klasik.
