Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of limited parental attention on student discipline in elementary schools and to understand its implications on student behavior and learning motivation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative case study approach conducted at SDN 26 Lubuk Alung. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation and analyzed using source and technique triangulation to ensure validity. The results indicate that students who receive minimal routine attention from parents tend to exhibit lower discipline, including tardiness, incomplete assignments, and reduced cooperation in class. Limited parental attention also negatively affects students’ learning motivation and their ability to internalize school rules. The study highlights the importance of active collaboration between schools and parents through regular communication, supervision, and positive reinforcement to sustainably develop student discipline and motivation. The findings imply that parental involvement is integral to school efforts in shaping students’ character and discipline

Abstract

The development of information technology has driven the need for innovation in elementary school learning so that the learning process remains relevant to the demands of the 21st century. One effort that can be made is to integrate technology-based learning with a scientific approach. This study aims to describe and analyze the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach in elementary school learning at SDN 26 Lubuk Alung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects include classroom teachers, students, and the principal. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach was able to create more active, interactive, and meaningful learning. The use of technology at each stage of the scientific approach can increase student engagement, encourage critical thinking skills, and strengthen the role of teachers as learning facilitators. Although there were several obstacles in its implementation, such as differences in students' abilities to utilize technology, teachers were able to make adjustments so that learning remained effective. This study concluded that the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach is a relevant and effective strategy for improving the quality of learning in elementary schools

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the principal’s leadership practices in managing teachers at the elementary school level, particularly civil servant teachers (ASN) and school education personnel (TKS). The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to gain an in-depth understanding of the principal’s leadership practices at SDN 126/VI Muara Jernih. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and documentation related to school activities and teacher management. Data were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that the principal applies a democratic leadership style characterized by openness to teachers’ input, decision-making through deliberation, firmness in enforcing rules, and open two-way communication. The management of ASN and TKS teachers is conducted fairly and proportionally based on each teacher’s competence, experience, and capability. Furthermore, the principal consistently provides guidance and supervision to support teachers’ professional development. This leadership practice has a positive impact on teachers’ performance, discipline, and motivation, while also fostering a harmonious and conducive work climate within the school. This study contributes to the development of effective, fair, and inclusive school leadership practices in managing teachers at the elementary school level.
