Abstract

Basic education plays a strategic role not only in developing students’ academic competencies but also in shaping social awareness and character as members of society. This article aims to evaluate the role of basic education within the social context of society from a sociological perspective. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through a literature review of scholarly sources related to the sociology of education and basic education. The analysis focused on examining the function of basic education as a social institution, an agent of socialization, and a medium for internalizing social values and norms. The findings indicate that basic education has a significant role in fostering social values, strengthening social integration, and preparing students to adapt to the dynamics of social life. However, this role has not been fully optimized due to various social factors, including diverse family backgrounds, community environments, and limited collaboration between schools, parents, and society. Therefore, strengthening the implementation of sociological foundations in basic education practices is essential to ensure that educational processes are more contextual, inclusive, and responsive to social realities. This study is expected to provide a conceptual contribution to the development of policies and practices in basic education oriented toward enhancing students’ social competencies

Abstract

Mohammad Hatta's ideological thinking is one of the important foundations in formulating the direction of ideology and development of the Indonesian nation. Hatta did not position himself as an extreme ideology of liberalism or socialism-communism, but rather formulated a middle path rooted in the values ​​of the people, social justice, and human morality. This article aims to analyze Mohammad Hatta's ideological philosophy and examine the fundamental differences between his thinking and the ideologies of liberalism and socialism-communism in the Indonesian context. This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method on Bung Hatta's works and relevant contemporary scientific articles from the past five years. The results of the study show that Hatta criticized liberalism for its tendency to give rise to social inequality due to the dominance of individualism and free market mechanisms, while socialism-communism was criticized for denying individual freedom and potentially giving rise to state totalitarianism. As an alternative, Hatta offered the concept of people's democracy and a cooperative economy that balances individual and collective interests. Hatta's ideological philosophy positions the state as a regulator that ensures social justice, not as an absolute ruler or facilitator of a free market. Thus, Bung Hatta's thinking represents a uniquely Indonesian ideology that is relevant as a reference in addressing the challenges of social inequality and sustainable development in the contemporary era.

Abstract

The instructional leadership of school principals plays a strategic role in strengthening elementary school management, particularly in improving the quality of learning. This study aims to describe and analyze the role of instructional leadership of school principals in strengthening elementary school management. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include principals and classroom teachers. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out interactively through the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the instructional leadership of principals contributes significantly to strengthening learning management, teacher professional development, and the formation of a school culture oriented towards learning quality. Principals play an active role in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning through academic supervision and continuous teacher mentoring. However, the implementation of instructional leadership still faces challenges in the form of time constraints and the administrative burden on principals. This study concludes that the instructional leadership of school principals is a key factor in realizing effective and sustainable elementary school management. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for the development of elementary school leadership practices in an effort to improve the quality of education

Abstract

The development of information technology has driven the need for innovation in elementary school learning so that the learning process remains relevant to the demands of the 21st century. One effort that can be made is to integrate technology-based learning with a scientific approach. This study aims to describe and analyze the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach in elementary school learning at SDN 26 Lubuk Alung. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research subjects include classroom teachers, students, and the principal. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach was able to create more active, interactive, and meaningful learning. The use of technology at each stage of the scientific approach can increase student engagement, encourage critical thinking skills, and strengthen the role of teachers as learning facilitators. Although there were several obstacles in its implementation, such as differences in students' abilities to utilize technology, teachers were able to make adjustments so that learning remained effective. This study concluded that the integration of technology-based learning through a scientific approach is a relevant and effective strategy for improving the quality of learning in elementary schools
