Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Genially platform on student learning outcomes in the ecosystem topic of IPAS subject for third-grade students at SD Inpres Osmok. The research was motivated by low student achievement due to conventional teaching methods and limited use of interactive media. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 25 students from class III B. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and multiple-choice tests, while data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and paired sample t-test through SPSS version 27. The results showed a significant increase in the average score from a pretest score of 51.12 to a posttest score of 72.80. The t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a positive impact of Genially on student learning outcomes. Additionally, observation scores of 83 (teacher) and 82 (students) reflected very good implementation. In conclusion, the use of Genially proved effective in enhancing student learning outcomes and fostering a more interactive and meaningful learning experience.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of Elementary School (SD) teachers in compiling teaching materials containing local wisdom as an effort to contextualize learning. The background of this activity is the low integration of local values ​​in the learning process which causes a lack of relevance of teaching materials to the environment of students. This training was carried out at GMIT Kuanino 1 Elementary School, Kupang City, which has a wealth of local culture such as the tradition of ikat weaving, folklore, and the values ​​of the lives of the people of East Nusa Tenggara. The method of implementing the activity consists of the stages of socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The training materials include identification of local potential, techniques for integrating local wisdom into lesson plans and teaching modules, and the practice of compiling teaching materials based on the Merdeka Curriculum. The results of the activity showed an increase in teachers' understanding of the importance of local wisdom in learning and their ability to compile contextual teaching materials. Thus, this training makes a positive contribution to strengthening local cultural identity in education and increasing student involvement in the learning process. This activity also encourages teachers to become agents of cultural preservation through educational activities that are relevant to students' daily lives.

Abstract

The language skills of children with mild intellectual disabilities often experience obstacles due to limitations in intellectual function and social adaptation. One approach that can help the communication process of children with mild intellectual disabilities is the total communication technique, which is a method that combines various forms of communication such as verbal, nonverbal, sign language, visual, and body language. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skills of teachers and parents in implementing total communication techniques to support the language development of children with mild intellectual disabilities at SLBN Pembina Kupang. This activity was carried out for three days and involved 15 teachers and 20 parents of students. The implementation method included interactive lectures, demonstrations of total communication techniques, practical simulations in the context of everyday life, as well as mentoring and evaluation sessions. The results of the activity showed an increase in the average understanding of participants from 56% to 85% based on the pretest and posttest. In addition, participants showed better practical skills in using simple sign language, facial expressions, and visual aids. Teachers felt more confident in delivering lessons to students, while parents felt more able to establish meaningful communication with their children. This activity has a positive impact and can be replicated in other schools with similar conditions

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penggunaan gadget berlebihan terhadap interaksi sosial anak muda serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi perubahan pola komunikasi sosial. Penelitian menggunakan metode studi literatur (library research) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui penelaahan berbagai jurnal, buku, artikel ilmiah, dan hasil penelitian yang relevan mengenai penggunaan gadget dan interaksi sosial. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis isi (content analysis) dengan mengelompokkan temuan berdasarkan tema-tema tertentu. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan dapat menurunkan kualitas interaksi sosial anak muda, mengurangi frekuensi komunikasi tatap muka, menurunkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal, mengurangi rasa empati, serta mendorong munculnya perilaku individualis. Selain itu, penggunaan gadget yang tidak terkontrol juga berpotensi memengaruhi aspek pendidikan, kesehatan, dan perkembangan emosional. Namun demikian, gadget juga memiliki dampak positif apabila digunakan secara bijak, seperti memudahkan komunikasi jarak jauh, memperluas jaringan pertemanan, serta meningkatkan akses terhadap informasi dan pembelajaran. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi interaksi sosial meliputi pola asuh orang tua, lingkungan sosial, hubungan dengan teman sebaya, dan penggunaan gadget. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengawasan, pembatasan waktu penggunaan gadget, serta peningkatan kesadaran dalam memanfaatkan teknologi secara seimbang agar interaksi sosial anak muda tetap berkembang secara optimal.
