Abstract

This research seeks to improve students' understanding of KPK and FPB concepts at SDN Cemerlang by addressing the constraints associated with the use of concrete media in mathematics instruction. Through the ADDIE model R&D method, Dakonball media based on Collaborative Learning was developed with 40 students. The validation results of material experts (93%), media (100%), and practitioners (93%) stated that the product is very feasible. The implementation showed a significant increase in learning outcomes, from an average of 35.13 pre-tests to 83.19 in the post-test. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significance value of 0.000, which is below the significance threshold (α = 0.05). With an N-gain of 0.73 (high category) and a positive response from students (90%), Dakonball media proved to be valid, practical, and statistically effective as an interactive mathematics learning solution in elementary schools. Abstract

The low ability of second-grade elementary school students to understand the concept of time remains a challenge in mathematics learning. Students often experience difficulties distinguishing the functions of the hour and minute hands and reading time accurately. This condition indicates the need for concrete and engaging learning media that are appropriate to students’ developmental characteristics. This study aimed to improve students’ understanding of time concepts through the use of the Pinwheel Clock media and to describe the learning process that supports student participation and engagement. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted from April to May 2026 with 17 second-grade elementary school students as participants. The research was carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques by comparing students’ learning outcomes in each cycle. The results showed that the use of the Pinwheel Clock media improved students’ understanding of reading time. Student learning completion in the pre-cycle was 29% and Cycle I reached 41% or 7 out of 17 students, then increased to 88% or 15 out of 17 students in Cycle II. In addition, students demonstrated higher levels of participation, enthusiasm, and engagement throughout the learning process. The visual and interactive characteristics of the media helped students understand time concepts more concretely and meaningfully. In conclusion, the use of the Pinwheel Clock media was effective in improving students’ understanding of time concepts in mathematics learning for second-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to improve students' writing skills in the Indonesian Language subject through the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method at SD Negeri Puncakmanggu. The background of this study is the low level of students' writing skills, which is caused by conventional teaching practices, limited variation in instructional methods, and the lack of attractive and interactive learning media. The Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method was chosen because it emphasizes group cooperation, integrates reading and writing activities, and can enhance students' motivation and understanding. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were students of SD Negeri Puncakmanggu. Data collection techniques included writing skill tests, observations of student and teacher activities, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods to determine the improvement in students' writing skills after the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method significantly improved students' writing skills. This improvement was indicated by the increase in the average writing skill scores, greater student participation during the learning process, and enhanced ability of students to express their ideas in written form in a more structured and creative manner. Therefore, the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method is effective in improving writing skills in the Indonesian Language subject at SD Negeri Puncakmanggu. Keywords: Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC), writing skills, Indonesian Language, elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ ability to understand the symbols of the Pancasila principles through the Project Based Learning model in fourth grade students of SD Negeri Ciawet. The study used Classroom Action Research consisting of two cycles, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, interviews, and project assessment rubrics. The results showed that the implementation of Project Based Learning increased students’ activeness, understanding of the symbols of Pancasila, and learning completeness. Students were able to explain the meaning of Pancasila symbols and relate them to everyday life. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model is effective in improving students’ understanding of the symbols of the Pancasila principles.
