Abstract

Character education plays an important role in shaping a person's character, especially in the era of disruption marked by the development of technology and globalization. In this context, Islamic education is expected to overcome moral challenges through strengthening character education. This study aims to understand the implementation of strengthening character education in Islamic education, identify the challenges faced, and propose appropriate strategies. The method used in this study is library research, which critically analyzes various related literature. The results of this study indicate that character education requires a holistic approach through the integration of Islamic values in the curriculum, the use of technology as a learning medium, the development of teacher competencies, and tri-center collaboration between families, schools, and communities. The challenges faced include the influence of technology that can hurt student morals, changes in socio-cultural values , and the readiness of teachers who are required to integrate digital media in Islamic education. The proposed strategy emphasizes cross-sector collaboration to create continuity in character education. By implementing this approach, Islamic education can produce a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also has a strong character, so that it can face the challenges of the digital era with strong Islamic moral values.

Abstract

The issue of gender inequality in Islamic education practices is still found in various aspects of learning, both in terms of curriculum, teacher attitudes and teaching materials that are still gender biased. In fact, Islam teaches the principles of justice and equality which should be reflected in the education system. This study aims to examine the competence of Islamic Religious Education teachers in realising inclusive Islamic education based on gender equality. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review of relevant theories and literature. The results of the study show that PAI teachers need to have pedagogical, professional, social and personal, and transformational competencies to create gender-fair and contextual learning. The conclusion of this study emphasises that the role of teachers is very strategic in shaping Islamic education that is fair and free from patriarchal bias. This study recommends teacher training and strengthening gender-sensitive curricula as concrete steps forward.

Abstract

This study analyzes the challenges and opportunities in developing the competencies of Islamic religious education (PAI) teachers in the 21st century, focusing on using technology in learning. In the digital era, PAI teachers need to improve digital literacy and relevant pedagogical competencies. The research method used is library research with a descriptive-critical approach, collecting data from various academic sources regarding the competencies of PAI teachers in the 21st century. The results of this study indicate that the main challenges include limited digital literacy, teachers' reluctance to change traditional teaching methods, and minimal access to technology-based training. However, there are great opportunities for competency development through access to digital educational resources and online training programs. This study emphasizes the importance of digital literacy for teachers and their role as facilitators in creating an interactive and responsive learning environment to students' needs. By implementing an innovative approach to learning, it is hoped that the PAI teaching process will be more effective and relevant for students in the digital era. These findings provide recommendations for education policies to improve teacher training and technology integration in the PAI curriculum.

Abstract

Degradasi moral di era globalisasi menjadi permasalahan serius yang dihadapi oleh pendidikan Islam dewasa ini. Tentu permasalahan ini mengindikasikan pentingnya pendidikan akhlak sebagai fondasi utama dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep pendidikan Islam berbasis akhlak menggunakan pemikiran Ibnu Miskawaih dengan pendekatan filsafat moral dan mencoba untuk melihat relevansinya dengan pendidikan Islam kontemporer. Kajian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yaitu studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis karya fenomenal dari Ibnu Miskawaih yaitu Tahdzib al-Akhlak, serta literatur yang relevan lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep dari pendidikan akhlak perspektif Ibnu Miskawaih menekankan pada pembentukan karakter melalui keseimbangan tiga kekuatan jiwa yaitu al-quwwah al-nathiqah, al-quwwah al-syahwiyyah dan al-quwwah al-ghadbiyyah. Relevansi pemikiran Ibnu Miskawaih terlihat dalam implementasi nilai-nilai akhlak ke dalam kurikulum pendidikan Islam dan metode pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman serta refleksi. Dengan pendekatan holistik ini, pendidikan Islam dapat menjawab tantangan globalisasi sekaligus membentuk generasi muda yang berakhlak mulia.
