Abstract

The drop in the 2024 education report cards for Gayamsari District, Semarang City, suggests that pedagogical skills among teachers in several elementary units remain suboptimal. The primary objective of this research is to assess how principal instructional leadership and teacher work motivation impact the pedagogical competence of elementary educators within this region. This research employed a quantitative methodology utilizing a correlational design. A sample of 135 public elementary school teachers was selected for this study using the proportional random sampling technique. Validated and reliable questionnaires were utilized to gather data concerning three key variables: instructional leadership, work motivation, and pedagogical competence. Following the fulfillment of classical assumption tests, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. Findings reveal that instructional leadership exerts a positive and significant influence on pedagogical competence, evidenced by a calculated t-value of 5.621. Similarly, teacher work motivation demonstrates a significant positive impact on pedagogical competence, with a t-value of 4.516. When analyzed together, both instructional leadership and work motivation significantly affect pedagogical competence, indicated by an F-value of 17.928 and an R-squared value of 0.214. Consequently, these two factors account for 21.4% of the variance in pedagogical competence, leaving the remaining 78.6% attributed to external factors not covered in this study. These results underscore that reinforcing learning-oriented leadership and boosting work motivation are vital, complementary strategies for elevating the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the influence of principal leadership and work culture on the work discipline of elementary school teachers in Tembalang District, Semarang City. This study uses quantitative methods. The population in this study was 382 teachers with proportional random sampling techniques to 195 elementary school teachers in Tembalang District, Semarang City. Data collection techniques used observation, questionnaires and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques used classical assumption tests, namely normality tests, linearity tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, multiple linear analysis, T-test (Partial), F-test (Simultaneous) and coefficient of determination (r2) tests. The results of the first test are a positive and significant influence of principal leadership on the work discipline of elementary school teachers in Tembalang District, Semarang City. The results of the second test are a positive and significant influence of work culture on the work discipline of elementary school teachers in Tembalang District, Semarang City. The results of the third test are a positive and significant influence of principal leadership and work culture simultaneously on the performance of elementary school teachers in Tembalang District, Semarang City. Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya kerja terhadap disiplin kerja guru SD Negeri se-Kecamatan Tembalang Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 382 guru dengan teknik proportional random sampling menjadi 195 guru sd negeri se-kecamatan Tembalang kota Semarang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji asumsi klasik yaitu uji normalitas, uji liniearitas, uji multikolinearitas, uji heterokedastisitas, analisis linear berganda, uji T (Parsial), uji F (Simultan) serta uji koefisien determinasi (r2). Hasil pengujian pertama adalah adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap disiplin kerja guru SD Negeri se-Kecamatan Tembalang Kota Semarang. Hasil pengujian kedua adalah adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan budaya kerja terhadap disiplin kerja guru SD Negeri se-Kecamatan Tembalang Kota Semarang. Hasil pengujian ketiga adalah adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan budaya kerja secara simultan terhadap kinerja guru SD Negeri se-Kecamatan Tembalang Kota Semarang.
