Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of financial literacy, parental financial behaviour, and herding behaviour on stock investment decisions among students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Slamet Riyadi University, Surakarta. Using a quantitative approach, primary data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted comprehensively through descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing using t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination ($R^2$). The t-test results showed that the three independent variables partially had a significant effect on stock investment decisions, as evidenced by the p-values obtained for financial literacy (0.000), parental financial behaviour (0.000), and herding behaviour (0.002), all of which were below the significance level of 0.05

Abstract

Abstract

Stock investment has become increasingly popular among university students. This trend is driven by the role of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in providing education and Investment Gallery facilities across various universities. These galleries serve as practical hubs for students to gain hands-on knowledge, enabling them to understand the mechanisms of the stock market and the practicalities of investing. This development is particularly relevant given the rapid advancement of technology and the ease of access to online trading platforms. Students who are well-educated both in theory and practice are expected to become the stock investors of the future. This is crucial for increasing the number of retail investors in Indonesia, which remains significantly lower in percentage compared to more developed nations. Consequently, this study aims to determine whether financial technology, financial literacy, and risk tolerance significantly influence investment decisions. Furthermore, it examines whether Investment Gallery educational facilities act as a moderator that strengthens or weakens the impact of financial technology, financial literacy, and risk tolerance on investment decisions.

Abstract

This survey research aims to analyze the effects of financial literacy, financial technology, risk tolerance, and herding behavior on stock investment decisions among Generation Z in Surakarta City. A quantitative approach was employed using primary data collected through questionnaire distribution. The study population comprised Generation Z individuals in Surakarta City, with the exact population size being unknown. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling technique based on the criteria of being at least 17 years old and possessing an investment account, yielding a sample size of 96 respondents. The research instrument was evaluated through validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R2). The findings reveal that financial literacy, financial technology, and risk tolerance partially have a significant effect on stock investment decisions. Conversely, herding behavior does not exert a significant effect on stock investment decisions. The F-test yielded an F-statistic of 22.279 (p < 0.05), indicating that the regression model is fit and suitable for predicting investment decisions. The Adjusted R2 value of 0.506 demonstrates that financial literacy, financial technology, risk tolerance, and herding behavior collectively account for 50.6% of the variance in Generation Z's stock investment decisions, while the remaining portion is influenced by factors beyond the model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the significance of the effects of lifestyle, financial literacy, and perceived ease of use on the consumptive behavior of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) users among Generation Z in Surakarta. The type of data used is quantitative. The data source used in this study is primary data. The sample in this study consists of 100 respondents, collected using the purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques in this study involve questionnaires and literature reviews. The research instrument testing uses multicollinearity, autocorrelation, heteroscedasticity, and normality tests. Data analysis techniques used in this study include multiple linear regression, classical assumption tests, t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination (R2). The results of the validity and reliability tests show that all statements regarding lifestyle, financial literacy, and perceived ease of use toward consumptive behavior are declared valid because the p-value < 0.05 and reliable because Cronbach's alpha > 0.60. The result of multiple linear regression analysis from this study is Y = 22.212 + 0.369 X₁ - 0.612 X₂ + 0.482 X₃ + e. The t-test results show significance toward the consumptive behavior of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) users among Generation Z in Surakarta. The F-test results show that the model is appropriate in predicting the effects of lifestyle, financial literacy, and perceived ease of use on the consumptive behavior of Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) users among Generation Z in Surakarta. The results obtained from the coefficient of determination (R2) are 0.372, meaning that the contribution of the independent effects of X1 (lifestyle), X2 (financial literacy), and X3 (perceived ease of use) toward Y (consumptive behavior) is 37.2%, while the remaining (100% - 37.2%) = 62.8% is influenced by other variables not included in this study.

Abstract

This research is a survey study conducted on the community of Surakarta City who own physical gold for investment purposes. The aim of this study is to examine the influence of financial literacy, opinions, and risk tolerance on investment interest in Surakarta. The type of data used is quantitative data from primary sources. Data collection was done through distributing questionnaires to respondents who meet the research criteria. The population in this study is the community of Surakarta City, with a sample determined using purposive sampling, namely respondents who reside in Surakarta, are at least 18 years old, and own physical gold intended for investment. The sample size used was 96 respondents. The collected data has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis techniques used include multiple linear regression analysis, classical assumption tests, t-test, f-test, and the coefficient of determination (R2). The research results show that financial literacy does not have a significant effect on the interest in investing in physical gold in Surakarta, while income and risk tolerance do have a significant effect on the interest in investing in physical gold in Surakarta. These findings indicate that people's interest in investing in gold is more influenced by their financial capability and readiness to face investment risks rather than their level of financial literacy. Moreover, collectively, financial literacy, income, and risk tolerance affect the interest in investing in physical gold in Surakarta.
